DO NOT BUY FROM Spydie Guys or habadash2010 on EBAY!!

there really is no sense in arguing, clearly some people have had good and some people have had bad experiences with this seller.

eric is trustworthy, and i value his opinion as much as anyone's.

i also have concerns about a seller with as much negative feedback as spydieguys.

Thanks for the tip. Never bought from them, but I've seen plenty of listings.
Could it be a Canadian shipping/customs issue?
Hello everyone, just to clear this up as well regarding customs...no this was and has never been an issue. I asked Spydie Guys repeatly for a shipping or tracking number and they would not answer either. Also too I have bought knives from them in the past. With most transactions going ok. One issue I did have with one transaction was for a Carbon Fibre Stretch which they advertised as a Numbered version they shipped one to me that was regular and definately looked to be used since the blade had some scratches on it. They offered to refund but I would have to pay for shipping. But since I really liked the knive and used it daily, I did not see the sense to return it and pay for shipping.

But one thing that really bothers me is why do they treat good paying high rated customers this way??
I would really like to see Jess come up with an explanation to me, I have all the emails of our conversations on my computer. Let's see if he comes through for me. It seems he has lots at stake here. Come on Jeff do what's right, thats all I ask.
Thanks again members for the support. I will update you all.

This thread surprises me.Ive bought many open auction Byrds and Spydercos from them at almost embarassing low prices and received great fast service.I guess i never looked at their feedback profile.Ill probably keep buying because i can go pick up or raise holy hell in person if need be.I think they have a storefront in mansfield about 10 mi from me.

Actually I read a post on SpydieGuys YT site where jess said he closed the Store in Mansfield because his Ebay site was doing so well....

I have read many good reviews on poor_fish; however, my experience with them has been disappointing. They auctioned items that they did not have in stock and when the auction was over and I had paid they said that they did not have the item and refunded. This is unacceptable, in my opinion.

Spydieguys has had a lot of negative and neutral feedback, but in my dealings with them, they have been good.

So, I guess that your mileage will vary on either.

I prefer to use New Graham or GP Knives, but they do not always have the knives that I am looking for, but at least they tell you up front that they do not have it.

While poorfish may have made a mistake and had an item listed that wasn't available, at least they did refund.
To just take a buyer's money and ignore them and never refund is totally unacceptable and that was what this thread was started over. (I suppose they feel they can't be held accountable now by eBay and that's all that matters to them) After all this time and given that spydieguys ceased all communication with the original poster, It's apparent they have no intention of ever refunding, or delivering. They may very well do great most of the time. But, there's more than enough negative evidence for me to never feel comfortable with dealing with them again.

Hey bud, just out of curiosity, did he charge you $34 for shipping?

PoorFish is an excellent seller with great feedback, fast shipping and very good prices.Bought many a Spydie from him

+1 on that

My wife bought me a Spydie from them and it arrived quickly but when I searched it was almost $20 over other trusted vendors. D***it!

Did you say Mansfield OH by any chance? Okay, boys if so, take up a pool and I'll drive over there and kick his ass - pics too! OOPs, hard to find the guy in a closed store? :D

Mansfield, Texas IIRC. Might be a long drive.:D

Hello Friend, no I did not pay $34. I guess shipping from them has doubled now. Last year the shipping I believe was $16 for what I payed for the Captain that I won from Spydie Guys be shipped to Canada and never came. I don't believe many Canadians will be paying this price for shipping which is quite high. About a month ago I had a nice fellow ship me the D'Allara WTC with box and all for about $14. I will usually pay $5-15 and have great and usually fast shipping service to Canada.

You don't get 72 negatives in 12 months by taking care of problems, IMO.

Hello Jill, I guess actually they would have had 73 negatives but I never did give them negative feedback since the item was closed on Ebay and I was not able to. But believe me I alway will work things out before giving negative feedback actually I never have had to. All my experiences buying knives on ebay have been great(I have over 30 Spydies and probably 3/4 were purchased online) and I really was hoping this to be positive, so I waited and waited and waited...my BIG MISTAKE.
But Friends do you have any advice for me, am I basically screwed? Plus I was really hoping to add the Captain to my collection since I feel it will be one of those hidden gems. But now I cannot justify to myself to buy another one since I lost over $120 on one already. What do I do??

It depends Andrew,

PP is one avenue. The other is if your PP purchase was financed with a credit card or directly from funds. I fund mine with one of my business credit cards. I wouldn't sic them on a dog. One phone call and they yank the money from a vendor's account until a full accounting has been given.

Your case would be a slam dunk. But, if you funded through your bank account, all you can do is bug Spydieguys mercilessly and perhaps they'll send your knife to get rid of you.

There's always http://www.ripoffreport.com/ to turn to. Also their Better Business Bureau. I would try to resolve in the order I wrote, including the link in an email to Spydie Guys. As a merchant, I wouldn't want my name in these places.

On the bright side of things, if there is one, many people learned lessons on "trust" for a much steeper price than you did, losing their entire life savings.

Thank You , Cziv I just may go this route you mentioned. Since contacting them has gone to deaf ears.
One member had mentioned that part about Sal not selling to them anymore. I think this would be good, since I would want none of the fine Spyderco name be tarnished by this group of people. I have such a following to Spyderco where this would not happen to me, but I always think of the newer owners of Spydies:rolleyes:

If you payed with a credit card problem solved. Contact them ASAP and tell them you never received the product and they should issue a credit while they investigate. That is why I always fund things with a credit card. I think even my credit union would refund the money if funds came from it and I got ripped off but that is a credit union and not a bank.

I would also send them an email with a link to this thread and tell them you are going to be contacting ripoffreport and better business bureau so that others will see what they stand for.

I don't care if every other transaction went great, if they are willing to screw one person over then what makes you think when a problem comes up for you they won't screw you over. If you are all fine and dandy and plan to keep buying from them, well it speaks volumes about your character.

FlaMtnBkr - did you copy that from my post, or just clarifying? Seems like you're always showing up to bust my b**ls about something. Maybe I'm just paranoid though hmm?

I recently won a Spydie from them and found their service to be excellent. Shipping was very fast and the product was NIB which was what was stated in the ad.

Seems they do great 99.1% of the time. If you have the misfortune to be in the 0.9% so sad, too bad.:(

Spydieguys kept running the Orange Military auctions over and over, as a limited 600 piece sprint run months after Spyderco said they wasn't. In fact when told they was not limited they answered, you aren't our customer what do you care?

I remember how they kept listing the orange Millie as a sprint run months after Sal had decided to make it regular production.

Funny you say this, everytime I post some knives on ebay, I always get people who like to waste my time, asking questions that one would think once answered they would purchase the knife, NOPE, they waste me time. Arrrgh

If you don't want me to waste your time, just post your avatar along with your eBay listing, that should keep me away.

Ummm, yeah ok, thats exactly how I meant my comment to come off, just thought it was kind of humorous that we had opposite outlooks. There I go thinking again
Just go there now and add me to your blocked user list, same user name :thumbup:

I sent the owner an email with a link to this thread last night.
I doubt he'll show up to explain his self.
This guys a real piece of work!:barf:

I guess it was to be expected that Jess(owner) would not even try to explain or more importantly correct this matter. So all of those who said they had good experiences, I'm really glad it worked for you, but no good seller would do this...which is just to ignore a person who is just trying to get what he paid for.
I'm just updating you all as I said I would.
Have a nice weekend everyone.

Regards

Andrew
