DO NOT BUY FROM Spydie Guys or habadash2010 on EBAY!!

I've bought from them a few times and never had an issue, in fact I ordered a knife from them last Thursday and it shipped the next day and was recieved Monday.

But I've also heard many horror stories about them somaybe its a crap shoot buying from them.

Also to the poster above regarding the Orange Bill Moran, it is a sprint Run so it "technically" is limited.

I stand corrected on the Moran. I searched on the Spyderco Forum and it does say it is a "limited" run but it does not say it is a Sprint Run (usually only 600 pcs). My mistake! Thank you for pointing that out.

If I know it's a crap shoot going in, I'll avoid them and go with a sure thing.

Very true...thats why i buy 99% of my knives at Knifeworks,,great service and fast shipping!!

You don't get 72 negatives in 12 months by taking care of problems, IMO.

WOW!!! thats incredible, and they stillhave 99% feedback, ebays statistics are way out of wack:grumpy:

It took me over 2 months and many emails to get the 2 purple ladybugs I ordered from them. Total waste. I feel if it wasn't for me emailing everyday they would have never completed my order.

That might not have been why you finally got it. If I were a thug like spydie guys, I would have just set my email account to auto-delete anything that comes from your address. I would have never seen your messages after the second one.

No I don't have pictures of the auction listing they ran over and over with the Orange Military being listed as a "limited sprint run of 600".
But, I did tell them that it wasn't repeatedly and they only argued at first it was, then when I persisted that it was not they told me "I wasn't their customer and why should I care". They sold them one after the other as limited, months after Spyderco announced they was making all they wanted of them and not the 600 originally stated.

Oh, yeah I know they were doing that, but I wanted a pic of the whole, "You're not our customer, so why do you care?" shebang. Post screenshots of that, and then maybe you'll have their attention.

Weren't they also the ones who told a customer to "get some sandpaper and rub it off" when he complained about their logo being on the knife that he was sent?

To the 2nd poster, your WRONG about everyone here thinking they are a scammer. A scammer doesnt give me some of the best deals I have EVER had, and there are a lot of them.

Oh, you're right. I am wrong. Everyone except you

I think there's a general consensus around here, so one or two good stories doesn't make a difference. If you had a good experience with them, well that's all dang-diddly dandy, now, ain't it? That doesn't cancel out the complaints we hear from (most, I think?) of our forumites around here.

I just checked their feedback on eBay and they do not have a 100% rating.
In fact in the past 12 months they have received 59 neutral and 72 negative.

I said "near 100% rating." 59 neutral and 72 negative, but how many sales total? I'm sure not every transaction is going to go wrong.

My question is why is the general consensus on these knife forums that they suck? And yet they have a ~100% rating? So either they're pleasing lots of other customers outside of the forums (by some coincidence), or is it possible that they have other accounts or something, buy from themselves, and then give themselves + ratings? I really don't know.

Well CS is what brings repeat business so deleting emails without answering them is a sure turn off in my eyes. BTW I don't ask questions just because. I only ask when 1) I can't find the answer or 2) something is wrong with my product, or service.

I always try to give people a chance to fix any problems we might have had.

It is interesting seeing this thread here. My worst eBay experience ever was with SpydieGuys. I ordered a mini Persian--it has stainless steel bolsters. The knife came and the bolsters were scratched up. This was supposed to be a safe queen, so I was not pleased. I emailed and emailed the guy who runs the site and never got so much as a response. Finally, I gave up and gave this guy negative ratings on eBay. Then all of a sudden I get a really unpleasant ranting email calling me names etc. because I gave them a negative feedback. Wierd, unprofessional, etc. I would obviously not reccomend these guys.

The answer on their ratings is simple: they are a bulk seller. If you happen to be in the minority where you actually need help, forget it.

Sure they have a 99% rating on eBay. They sell loads of knives.
But, so do a lot of other dealers there and they don't use that as an excuse to say too bad when customers are unhappy. I've bought a few times and never had any problem. But, I'm not willing to deal with them again, because it seems when there is a problem they don't care.

.
It sure is dang diddly dandy that I got great deals and fast shipping each time I purchased from spydieguys, thanks for reminding me :)

Am I in the wrong for simply correcting your EVERYBODY? Sorry Im not jumping the same train like the others when I have had the exact opposite experiences, I guess I shouldn't of said anything since it wasnt negative.
Oh, and for your "general consensus", not fair IMO. 825 happy people in a month and 7 un-happy ones is not enough for me to call someone a scammer. Ive dealt with WAY TOO MANY obtuse people in my short life to think its ever one sided. SPydieguys has spoke out on multiple occasions in this forum I do believe, hopefully he will stop by and say hello.

I never bought anything from them because they never ever answered a single of my questions through eBay. I always ask eBay sellers a question just to see how good their communication is, Spydieguys failed every time.

Amazing how dealers/sellers either don't know for forget how important basic communications are.
I always test them out with a very simple email or phone call.
Just yesterday I sent an email to a dealer I was seriously ready to spend several hundred dollars with, asking 2 simple questions. His reply was to call him (at MY expense..no toll free number) since "a phone call is worth 1000 emails".

- Selling Knives with their Company name / Website etched on the Blade - when the pic in the Auction does not show that etch
Seriously? I did not know they did that. Do they they think their name adds to the value of the Spyderco? Now that's real ego.
Kind of like car dealers who think adding their decal to your new car improves it. At least the car decals are easy to remove.

2 things...

72 negative feedbacks should be a HUGE flag to anyone.

I think Sal should stop selling to them!! Cut off his supply so he stops hurting customers who want to buy Spyderco. Since Spydieguys doesn't understand who the customer is..maybe Sal should/could easily look at the guys feedback comments (not percentages) and see if the guy is representing Spyderco properly..

I think that is a GREAT idea!

This thread surprises me.Ive bought many open auction Byrds and Spydercos from them at almost embarassing low prices and received great fast service.I guess i never looked at their feedback profile.Ill probably keep buying because i can go pick up or raise holy hell in person if need be.I think they have a storefront in mansfield about 10 mi from me.

Okay.

Am I in the wrong for simply correcting your EVERYBODY?

Do you want to play semantics, or do you want to be men here?

Funny you say this, everytime I post some knives on ebay, I always get people who like to waste my time, asking questions that one would think once answered they would purchase the knife, NOPE, they waste me time. Arrrgh

It's all part of business, you must treat every customer or better yet potential customer as if they are the very first or last customer you will ever have. I get a ton of emails from people with questions and some never end up buying. oh well, like I said it's all a part of business.

It's too bad they do this to people. it's so hard to get a customer or attract visitors to a site or in this case your ebay sale. the easy part is taking care of said customers and giving them the service they deserve and the product they are waiting to get.

I agree. Jus sayin.

I've bought from them with no problems...anyone got another ebay seller to recommend? I dont have any credit card except paypal.
