Do You Carry "Regardless?"

I carry pretty much everywhere I go. Doesn't matter where. In my eyes, we're not doing anything wrong.

I know the general public might feel differently.

I do, too, hasn't ever been a problem.

This thread was more about not where we might carry but what we might carry, in terms of legal length. But I'm cool with whatever direction it takes.

As long as it doesn't go in the direction of elephant/zebra love children... I'm not ready for that.

Well get ready for it, buddy! Lol

So what's the largest knife you carry around?

I think my old 0561 was the largest knife I ever carried, but I suppose it wasn't too big.

For a few months, I EDC'd a pair of CS Rajah 2... one in each pocket.

When I was younger I used to carry only fixed blades (for some reason when I was young I wasn't into folders and now most of my knives are folders and I rarely carry a fixed blade... part of growing up and realizing society doesn't want a big knife on your belt everywhere you go I guess.)

The largest I carried was a medium sized fixed knife with about 5" blade... which was probably still legal, especially since I made no attempt to conceal the knife.

Yep, all day everyday within arms length. I even carried a Military in New York City but found little use for such a long blade, it has an incredibly lightweight and flat profile for its size. I stopped carrying a folder for a couple months because of weight, then I realized its always when you need one and you don't have it. I had a minor incident where a plastic bag blew onto my path, got all tangled and snapped derailleur on my bike. I cut myself trying to get it out and had to stop bleeding, all the while fixing the bike. Eventually gave up and called a taxi, would a been a simple job with a blade and/or multitool. So back on BF for excuses to buy more :)

If you're a clean looking white person, there's little you have to worry about. If you fit a "profile", it pays to play by the rules.

To broaden the perspectice a bit. This is how it is up north, in Sweden. I answered "The Lone Gunmen" in another thread when he asked if I legally could carry a RAT 1.

"No Gunmen, I can't. Basically it's illegal to carry any knife of any size whatsoever in Sweden if you can't prove you need it for work or are on your way to hunt, fish, hike, camping or similar activities. So all firefighters, police, military, carpenters, plumbers or any other proffesions that might use knives in there line of work are home free. And to that you can add that there is an extremely large portion of the population over here that is hunters and/or fishermen in some shape or form.

But and there is a big but, no one cares if you carry a knife if you don't show it in public. The police never stops you unless you actually threaten somenone with a knife or done something stupid like taken it to a bar/club or similar. That's why I always carry more than one knife. Often a very small one that I can use discretely at public places and a bigger if needed. And no knife whatsoever if I'm going out for a beer!

So the answer is yes and no I guess. It's not allowed at all but many does it and I have been carrying knives my hole life in one way or another. So does my mother and girlfriend by the way.

I might add that before this current law there was basically none that the police could use for taking away pointy objects from dangerous people before they poked somebody to hard. The law is roughly called the law against "knives and other dangerous objects" which includes pens and pencils if your threaten sto stab somenone with it. So nowadays the police can act preventing."

(hope I can make my self understood. English isn't my native tongue)

Why no, man on the internet in a public forum, i would never dream of violating any law of any state of our great union. I especially would not speculate about it here. ;)

Where I live an illegal knife is a felony. So I stay within legal blade limits (4") and no autos or double edge.

I carry everywhere its legal and doesn't have metal detectors. I am lucky in that we don't have a HR department at work, our weapons policy is simple...the boss 'prefers' , his words, we leave our handguns in our cars.

Yes, I carry. I call it the "human right to carry tool". And human rights cannot be denied with laws. :)

Georgia is a pretty lenient state. We can carry anything up to 5 inches in blade length except ballistic, of course. Over 5 inches requires a weapons permit. The only time I don't have a knife is in the off chance that I might be entering a federal building or airport. If I end up downtown Savannah then the larger folder stays in the car and something right around 3" or less comes with me just to avoid potential hassle.

The largest I carry is a 0560 or a Manix XL. I more regularly carry stuff closer to 3 or 3.5" just out of preference.

Everything I carry is perfectly legal in NEPA, add to that my CCW permit and I'm golden, there's even a clause that allows me to carry a switchblade, (so long as I'm transporting it to a show, for sale or trade within the state or if I use it as a prop in a play or a show of some sort).

Now as far as breaking the law here or anywhere else? Why would I admit on any public forum that I regularly break the law.
