Do You Carry "Regardless?"

I live in the same town as the famous movie theater shooting by an ex cop over a guy texting. I do not carry in there, they even have signs that say no guns or knives. They do sell liqour so im sure for that reason is why they dont allow carry.

I seem to miss all the weirdest (albeit unfortunate) headlines.

I can carry everything that interests me here. I don't leave my state often but when I do I make sure to carry something that is legal during my trip. Our last long trip went through Massachusetts so that was really a challenge.

yes..the smallest knife is a FH-3...old habits are hard to break..my dozier goes everywhere !!

I plead the 5th.... Seriously.

Me too, I will not admit to a criminal act on a public forum. Had I ever committed a crime, I will say in don't care how much you love a knife. Part of loving knives is being responsible. As the public's view of knives goes from every young man and man carried one, to now a SAK is a weapon we need to educate and obey laws , I'm not preaching or judging here, I'm just saying Us knifenuts and gun nuts are getting smaller and smaller , and the more irresponsible we act the more ammo we give certain powers at be the right or motivation to take our rights away. Just saying be responsible, and careful.

I live in Texas... Our laws really aren't all that tolerant toward the more "aggressive" knives, but you almost have to try to get into trouble for carrying one. It's an add-on crime. No one gets busted for a stiletto. They get busted for an 8-ball AND a stiletto. Or disorderly conduct AND a double edged blade.

I don't worry about carrying much, but I tend to also carry pretty sensible stuff.

I've been carrying a knife all day, every day for as long as I can remember.

That will never change.

yep... I carry everywhere unless it's a controlled secure facility.

I carry some sort of knife most everywhere I can. Living in Germany right now for work I usually obey their knife laws, so when I am not on base working I will carry a Boker Subcom 42 or one of my other slip joint knives I trust that fits their anti-lock knife laws.

I carry everywhere even just headed down to the park to take my dogs out. Only place I do not is in the local PD and I leave my knife in the car when I go to pick family up at the airport.

I only EDC a large fixed blade when I am hiking, but I EDC a multitool and sometimes the fixed blade, because the law here in South Australia says that you are not allowed to carry a fixed blade knife in a place where you have no reasonable excuse to use it like in a downtown pub (just for an example, because I don't go to the pub) . So if I carried a fixed blade knife into a shopping mall it is illegal, whereas if I carried the same knife when I go fishing and hiking which I do regularly it is totally legal. I live in South Australia, so the law says I am not allowed to carry knives for self defense, I try to obey that law, but If I do happen to have a knife on me at a time where I'll need it to defend myself, I will use it. For self defense, I'll stick to my heavy leather belt or steel capped boots.

So no I don't carry a fixed blade regardless of the law, I only carry a folder regardless of the law because a folder is less threatning, especially if it is a Bear Grylls one. Nobody would raise an eyebrow-just another Bear Grylls fan right?

i rarely travel, and when i do I am careful not to break any "weapon" laws whatsoever...and living in a rural farming community, darn near everyone carries a knife everywhere, so unless youre looking for trouble, you wont find any here. i can literally walk thru wally world and spot pocket clips and/or belt sheaths on 3 outta 4 men. (and id venture to say alotta women have a knife in their purse or on their keychain)

Pretty much anytime except where prohibited.

I have smaller 2"-class knives for 'Office EDC' and 3"-class for 'non-Office EDC'.

Every day. The only place I have to worry about is the courthouse. The last time I went there, I forgot to leave my knife in the car. Security bagged it up for me with a card that had my ID information on it and kept it at the security port. When I left, I showed them my ID and they gave me my knife back. I thought that was pretty cool, in lieu of walking back out to the car and leaving my knife there.

This is what we do at the municipal court where I work - hold the knife at the security desk until the visitor leaves. No muss, no fuss, and we've never had a complaint from a citizen regarding this.

Where we do get complaints is from LEO's not on duty who must leave their sidearms locked up at the security station. They must be on duty in order to carry here.

That's a rule that pretty much makes sense to me... hope they don't complain too much.
