I carry all my knives... just not simultaneously. They're divided into two groups, and I usually carry two knives. One is used for EDC purposes, the other performs the same role as a Spyderco Civilian or Yojimbo -- I keep them clean, I keep them scary-sharp, and I flip or flick them open repeatedly; but the first thing they will cut with serious purpose will be human flesh (hopefully not mine, and hopefully not anyone's actually), or a seat belt, or nothing. They're my 'go-to' fighting knife and/or survival knife, usually flippers, usually titanium framelocks, and sometimes a Sebenza 25.
This system satisfies my desire to carry my knives, my belief in carrying a knife for self-defense that is always ready for battle, and keeps my favorites from getting slightly worn in the way my EDC knives do. I carry my Sebenza 25, Hinderer XM-18 3.5 Slicer, ZT 0392, etc. as my self-defence blades, or 'Tactical Carry', whatever. My Spyderco Paramilitary 2, Farid Mehr K2, and ZT 0561 are all great EDC knives for someone who doesn't worry about an extra ounce or two. All of the folders I own make effective fighting knives, but I try to keep the most expensive ones in the best condition I can.
In the summer, I scale back to carrying one, from either group. At work or home, a boxcutter does most of the jobs, and EDC tasks rarely come up. Neither do violent 'tasks'. It's an insurance policy, and hopefully I'll never have to file that claim.
That was a long, tedious way of saying 'yes, I carry my Sebenza, but no, I haven't had cause to use it'.
