I usually carry 2.5 knives.... A slipjoint in one front pocket, and a locking blade clipped to the other. The 0.5 is a Vic money clip that technically has a knife blade, but is used for the money clip and scissors.
All the "traditional" slipjoints over time (stockmans, congress, canoes, peanuts, etc.), have been replaced by Vic SAKs. They are just way too handy not to carry. Having said that, 90 - 95% of my cutting is done by the locking blade, usually a Spyderco Caly 3. It's just too handy not to use, and it cuts just as well, if not better, than any of my slipjoints. Plus, it's steel is much better, cutting down on sharpening time.
