Do you only carry a knife to use?

Used a breakaway blade for 8 years, switched to a small stainless steel pair of scissors.

I think its better, i dont go thru as many blades now and its just as easy to open boxes
running the scissors closed along the edge of the box.

Still looking at buying a small knife, that mcusta "take" staminawood looks nice.

I work in place that gets a lots of paper delivery and I like to carry 1 knife in my pocket pm2 right now on a delica in my bag for lunch purpose. I use my knife between 3 to 8 times a day. The manager ask me why I carry a knife I answer so I don't have to use a pen guess who's useing the pen to open skids of paper.

I leave the house with a knife because I only need a knife when I don't have one, so I make sure to have one all the time. Also, I'm in college, and one of the campuses I go to is pretty bad, so I keep it simply because I can't have my gun. Everyone else has a knife, so it's not like they're very strict about that. It's a large folder that does double duty as defensive and utility blade. Armed robberies occur almost weekly at that campus, so I definitely don't carry just for the hell of it.

But outside of school or a bar, I have my gun, the knife I'm liking at the moment, a SOG multitool, and my cell phone all the time.

Well I do carry a Emerson CQC-15 with a Spyderco delica and I always find myself using the delica more and for most of my tasks. When I see a friend or I am just bored I like to show them the "wave" on the Emerson and they always like it. So I hope that answers the question.

so is the question "do you carry fondling knives?" that's how I interpreted it. no, I have nice knives that I don't use but the show and shine stays home, the only ones I carry are my users. although I do have a few in between that are for light use only though.

i always carry a small folder to be pc (either a SAK, Buck slipjoint and lately a Manbug) if i need to use a knife in front of a herd of sheeple that are easily spooked by something as evil as a knife, and a larger knife (fixed or folder) for the serious cutting chores. i have so much junk in my pockets on a daily basis, i cant justify carrying a knife that isnt gonna be used.

+1 bro. My edc knives are for work. I keep my nice blades at home for me and my sons to show off and toy with. If im out of the house, my blades are for business purposes only.

I only carry a blade I am going to use. I don't usually carry two unless I have cargo shorts on. I don't have as much front pocket room because I carry my wallet in my front right pocket. So I generally only carry two knives with cargo shorts, on front right pocket, and the other in one of the cargo pockets.

well first yes, I carry to use
but it's not always easy to be in need for a knife, unfortunately I don't always use them as much as I'd like, some times I do
I carry 2: 1 in pocket (main kmife) 1 in the pocket organizer (backup - food)

I've heard guys say they feel naked without a knife wth them...I guess I'm in that group. I always have big folder in my rf pocket. I always carry a se Caly, jr in my

lr pocket. I used my Caly today to cut a new rawhide bone for my dog.....the vise wouldn't hold the bone to cut it with a saw. My Caly with teeth will cut thur just about

anything. That's why I always have it with me.

Lol, I thought I was a weirdo for doing this, I almost always have a large folder or a nice one in my front pocket (when I'm not wearing my BK7). Then I have a medium sized SAK on the same pocket and then a smaller beater knife in my back left pocket.

Good thing I'm not alone here.

first off thanks Morrow for banning that fool. I do carry two to three knives aday, i do handyman type stuff and work on our family farm, so the need to cut things ocurrs all day. The reason I carry the variety of blades it is you can't make a small knife do a large knife's job, so I carry an XM 24 for the big jobs and carry a ZT 0550 mid stuff and an old case camp knife (scout). When some one asks why carry so many knives I ask how many different screw drivers or hammers are in your tool box, each one is more suitable than another for different tasks. Plus I like knives !

This has been real interesting reading. Glad to see I'm not the only one that carries a knife that sees very little use. I also wish I had more use for a knife in my day to day work, but I don't. But in true knifeknut fashion I carry them anyway! Someone said a "fondling knife", I like that!!:)
