Do you open potato chip bags with your knife?

I think we’re all missing what’s most important, how do you close the bags because everyone hates stale chips!

I usually just pry open with my hands but sometimes they are either wet from washing them before lunch and cannot get a grip to tear or my hands are greasy from a messy sandwich, so a knife is used, and also just because so I can use it.

And when I have a jar of peanuts I cannot get my finger under it to pull the paper thing off, I use my knife to cut it out.

Like pull-tabs on canned goods, easy-opening bags have made society soft.

Yeah we need to go back to that key opening system that turns your can in to a razor blade.

Now that we have established that using a knife is the correct way to open a bag of chips (and that we have been invaded by barbarians) the best blade shape should be discussed.

Or not, because a clip point is obviously best, a spear point will get you by and tantos are just silly. Can you even open a bag of chips with a spey blade? What kind of degenerate would even try?

Some of these bags require an Iron Kung Fu grip to pull apart followed by an explosion of chips all over the place. Using an on hand pocket knife to simply cut the bag open just makes more sense.

Remember the 70s Kung Fu series with David carradine? The master said when you can snatch the pearl (?) from my hand it will time for you to leave. when you can snatch the potato chip bag and open in one movement, that is a sign of a master.

Though the instructions call for a perfect 90 degree cut, I prefer to maker the cut at a 96.3 degree angle, I've found that it makes for better access to the chips in the bag without allowing them to fall out.
