in all seriousness..We met at the Blade show..I dont know if you remember I think I was with Gig or Danbo ...you did not seem like a jerk to me...actually someday when I actually have a real job again I want to aquire one or three of your knives...


Believe me when I say that my personality has its detractors also...such is life..
 
At the risk of going off half-cocked (not that it ever stopped me before), I'm going to add to this thread without having read the other posts. No, Mr. Wheeler, I don't think you're a jerk. I neither know you personally, nor have I yet bought any of your knives, but I've read many of your posts and seen some of your work, I also remember the W&SS knife you helped design a couple years ago. You're not a dick, the yahoo who wrote that email is. You keep on doing what you do, and don't let TROLLS mess with your head. :thumbup:

Okay, I've gotta work-out again... But I was thinking and some of you guys are probably right.

I can see where someone might be jealous of THIS G-Q model... Oh SNAP!!! And yes, that is a jumbo pack of toilet tissue in the background. Jealous much? ;) ROFLMAO :p

Oh, and just for the record. I never got one of her in the shop... but this is Naomi and some douche bag at Multnomah falls, OR. She dyed her hair between the other pics and this one, but I assure you that's her. :) Okay... there's some dead weight calling my name ;)

Nick, I don't get it. The guy who sent that e-mail is way off base. I not only have no problems with your postings, I have learned a lot. Blow this guy off, he is the one with the problem.

What an opinioned knife maker? I cant imagine that, but really, I’ve been reading here a long time, Nick and all the other regulars are amazingly generous with their help. When I saw the e-mail Nick quoted my first thought is it’s from the recent 12 year old visitor, a little butt hurt about the responses he got, I wouldn’t take that e-mail personally. As helpful as you all are you also shoot strait about safety issues and things that are way over someone’s skill level, like the guy that wanted to cast a sterling silver sword as a first project. You may get a little short answering the same question the 189th time, and school has been out, there have been some off the wall questions lately don’t worry about it 1) those with serious desire to learn and improve appreciate your answers 2) I and I think most of the others want a straight answer, knife making ain’t for sissies.

He is a bit of a jerk for not showing more pictures of his beautiful lady. LOL. Have a good year Nick and quit worrying about this stuff. Jim
 
I think Nick should become the newer Bruce Evans and have his GF model his knives..... oh wait, Nick doesn't finish knives. She could model hammers and handle material and bar stock and stuff that Nick apparently doesn't use often. :p
 
I would not worry about it Nick: Its good to see you posting on here. Hope all that works out for you. Just make knives and let the world go on.:thumbup:

There's a song by Wagner in which the main singer forges a sword during the performance. If that's one whole sword in less than nine minutes, Nick should be able to make a bowie every three minutes while singing. But it has to be a badass song that makes the listener wonder who was ripping off Black Sabbath in the 19th Century.

Veering back on topic, I don't think Nick's a jerk.
