Does anyone else carry a "backup" or secondary blade?

Along side my main EDC, I started to carry a backup blade recently..in my case, my Schrade scalb auto. Smaller knife, a 1.75" blade which I find useful for all sorts of tasks where I don't want to use my main EDC for overly hard tasks where it would be hard on the blade (emergency situations of course would be exempt).
I wear shorts or pants (almost always) that have a main pocket for my primary EDC and side pockets at the sides for my backup clipped to the right pocket.
Anyone else have a backup EDC blade?

Yes, a SAK, because they are people friendly and just too useful for all kinds of non-knife tasks to leave at home.

Yes, I carry a clip knife in my right front pocket, a Kershaw Cinder deep in that same pocket, and a Vic Waiter in my left front.

Lately I have been rotating in a traditional as a back pocket knife as well just for the joy of carrying one.

I always carry two blades with me. A medium to large and a small. Sometimes my backup is a long blade but just thin like a endura or code 4. Sometimes its my emerson roadhouse and a sak solo or floral blade. Or my emerson horseman and a gerber basic worn as a neck knife. All depends the situation, am i working, out with the family, cutting food, whatever.

I've always carried a main knife and a leatherman juice s2. THe added tools in the juice paired with nice sub 3" blade I can use when I feel like the crowd would not be fond of me pulling out a 3.5 inch fixed blade make life easier. The pliers are insanely useful as well, I cannot go without them.

I carry a Dragonfly 2 in my change pocket as a secondary and in situations where I need a more people friendly knife.

I sometimes carry a secondary folder I don't have it any more but my favorite secondary was myour brous silent soldier. Need to get another but the Ranger v2 this time.

I carry a modern locking folder which I rotate between about 8 different knives. I also carry an alox cadet SAK. 99% of my cutting tasks are done with the modern folder just because of the convenience. The SAK is carried primarily for the tools but it is a nice backup. I did try a case peanut as a backup for a few days but I missed the tools to much.

If I was ever in a situation where I was concerned about offending others I could pull it out I suppose. I live in a pretty knife friendly area so that's not generally an issue.

Always a a SAK or two. I have a Vic Mini Champ on my key ring, if that qualifies. I used to carry a Vic Alox Cadet plus whatever else I might be carrying. Not so much as a backup but just different tool for different uses. I also leave a couple of knives and a multitool in my car, and one in my laptop bag along with another multitool.

When you own a lot of knives, no reason to leave them all on a the same shelf or in the same drawer at home. I used to leave a couple in my desk drawer at work, too.

I mainly use and carry slipjoints so were talking about fairly inexpensive knives, $20 to $40 range. I'm not leaving a bunch of $200+ knives laying around. I don't even own a $200+ knife. :)

Yup. Modern one hand opener clipped to my right front pocket, then a SAK style folder in my left front pocket. Firstly because a SAK has a number of handy tools to supplement the modern folder, secondly because it raises fewer eyebrows in some situations, and lastly because the SAK almost invariably has better cutting geometry than the modern folder.

I use my main folder quite a bit, but in the last month or so I have been carrying another cheaper folder for dirty work when I am doing farm work. When I am in the city, usually just my main EDC, nothing else. Well, I guess I have a tiny folder on my keychain that never gets used. Just a "backup".

Yes. SAK alox cadet or Leatherman micra. I've got each one on a p7 suspension clip, and they ride in my back left pocket (right front pocket carries my main folder).

I have a SAK classic on both of my key rings and my wife carries one as well. I have given them to a lot of friends and family. Great backup knife and has a tweezer, tooth pick and scissors.

As most above, I carry a SAK always on me plus another one in my keychain in addition to the folder

I find the implements very useful, and the SAKs are used when there is people or public around

Sometimes the SAK is carried along a slipjoint, multitool or small folder
