Does anyone else carry a "backup" or secondary blade?

I really haven't had any negative feedback. I get a few "is that legal?" but that gives me the opportunity to clear up any misconceptions about state law if they're willing to listen. At my 12 step groups, I'm always hit up to cut stuff, especially at the end of the month ... Birthday meetings that always involve a cake and I have the largest knife in the room.

:D

Oh hell yes! Best cake cutter ever.

Generally carry a knife with a clip in my right front pocket as well as something smaller like a Peanut or small Stockman. One's good, two's better.

There is a guy always in our local Wal-Mart here in So Cal that always has an open carry fixed blade. Just can't conceal.
Nice knife CM!

Yup...

I always have a folder, sometimes a fixed blade. always have some sort of box knife in my backpack for when someone says "hey can I use your knife?"

I always carry a large folder in my rf pocket, lately it's been 1 of my millies. I been carrying a se dfly in my lf or lr pocket for about 4 years.

The dfly in se is like a pocket chain saw. I have 2 pe dfly's but, hardly ever carry them. The se is so much more useful than the pe in a dfly for me.

When I deer hunt I carry 3. Fixed blades on a belt and one in my pack, and the chinese millie in my pocket.

I've been very satisfied carrying a case sowbelly stockman for the past year almost. I've got three very useful blade shapes in case one or two get dull. I haven't found an need for anything more yet except for hunting where I'll swap it out with a trapper and a fixed blade.

A large bowie/fighter of some sort and a traditional slipjoint cover 99% of my daily needs.

I will say that the little GEC #14 (Boys Knife) is a wonderful little knife and plenty for most people who need to cut things from time to time. Fixed blade.... all I can say is that it would be totally out of character for me to carry a blade like that regardless if it was perfectly legal. Do what makes you happy.

Looks like a Protech OTF. Wish they made a DA OTF.

I'm ok with the SA. They're fun.

I seriously doubt I'd ever run into any trouble due to the double edge as they don't exactly stress knife laws here, but its not worth the risk.

I'm one of those nuts that carry multiples. Not because I always need them, but because I like knives and like options. A primary heavier model, and a lighter one. Like what's in the pockets today. The he ZT 456 can open mail. But the Spyder Positron (or more often Chaparral) or the new Drover are better suited. But if I end up helping out in the warehouse, the heavier blade gets more use. Also keep a mini-multi and mini-pry on the keychains. Yup, usually have options galore. [emoji16]

In today's pockets.....

Always! Sometimes it's just because I can't pick between two, so I choose both... but a lot of times its to have something I wont mind taking out in the post office. I also like keeping a knife on me that I made so I can show locals if the topic arrises, but realize they're fixed blades so I should keep a smaller, "friendlier", folder on me as well for public use.

I always have multiples. Will usually have a full size folder in each front pocket as well as one IWB that is razor sharp and not used unless an extremely sharp blade is needed. I also have a mini grip with deep carry clip that I use as a money clip and keep in the bottom of my left pocket. I also keep a LM micra in pocket for the scissors and tools. I also have a surgical scalpel blade in the sealed foil packet that I keep in my wallet.

I don't need them all but like knives and they all get used at some point. I also carry a flashlight and gun and have very full pockets.

The only time I have a second knife on me is when I'm carrying a backpack, as I have a Leatherman in my work backpack and I have a Mora Companion in my hiking pack.
