Does anyone know a story of this damaged Busse SAR 4?

The steel choice has very little to do with these tests. It is mostly about geometry, which knife is in the more stable position, etc. . .

Edge to edge tests really prove nothing.

I have to disagree, I think it does prove something! It really proves to everyone how stupid you are for destroying knives!

It shows which knife was tougher! Looks like the Sar4 lived to cut another day.

In fact, it looks pretty danged good witth that regrind!

Heck, I would be proud to use it.

I am just glad I don't need to destroy my knives. I will let some one else do that, and I will observe the damage. Then I will get my users out and strop the edges so they know I care!

right , man.

what is the most suitable way to test strengh or toughness ?

dingy

Makes no sense at all to be so destructive to a fine knife. Unless there is some test that was done to prove how well the knife stood up to the abuse. It does grab your attention.

You take it and put it in your safe for a decade.

If it is still there after that long, it must be a real survivor!!!

A couple of weeks ago I asked if there are certain ethics to be considered when modifying a knife... There was a strong consens among the forum members that after purchase you can (and should) do with a knife whatever you want.

So why should it bother us now when s.o. intentionally f*^#s up his knife? Be consistent. I'm okay with it and am delighted to see the value of my SAR4 slightly increased because there are less originals in the market ;)

is k9 made of 3v ?
paul bos treated?

The K9 Dingo (which is the one shown in these photos) is in fact CPM 3V. I know Tom Krein (the principal behind K9 knives) uses Paul Bos for his other knives, so it stands to reason that he used Paul for the Dingos too. I'll ask him and let you know.

I was one of the people who answered you that knife owners can and should do whatever they want with their knives.

It doesn't bother me when someone intentionally damages her/his own knife.

So I checked and confirmed this: The Dingo is/was Paul Bos heat-treated CPM 3V.

The knife damage doesn't bother me. Easy come, easy go.
What it says about my fellow man, on the other hand... :D

На!!!
#144 it is my knife!
I know this history.
It is a pity that I didn't see this thread earlier.

I assert that SAR-4 #144 it is my knife!
I was the participant of these tests.
These pictures are made by my camera.
Here that I speak.
