Dogs and traditional knives

There has been a lot of "infrastructure improvement" projects in my part of town over the past 5 years, and they're still going on in various surrounding neighborhoods this spring and summer. Here's our dog Gandalf wishing he could use heavy equipment to do some of his important digging a couple of years ago when they were repaving the street at the end of the alley that runs next to our house.

But, the burning question is. "Did he jump or was he placed? " :) Then there's The Lamb of Damocles hanging over all.....;)

Gandalf has that pondering/wisdom type look on his face as if he's thinking "If only I could, but since I can't, I can only instruct, I can not force"...

Awesome pic 👍🏻

Thanks, Zach; Gandalf often acts as if he's some kind of Zen master. ;)
Will, my wife took the original photo, and I think she placed Gandalf atop the tire. Even as he nears 15 years of age, he's a pretty good jumper, but he can't jump that high! I suppose if he really wanted to get himself on the tire, he could have gone up the stairs to get to the entrance to the cab, jumped onto the black fender thing to get above the tire, and then jumped down onto the top of the tire. 🤓
As for the lambsfoot, I added that after my wife sent me a copy of the photo; she was not happy that I placed it in what she considered a menacing position over his head.

Early on Saturday mornings, I usually sort the laundry and get a load into the washer before breakfast. Our dog Gandalf often likes to jump into a clothes basket and lie down on the pile of dirty clothes, but if I'm still sorting, he jumps out as soon as I toss an item of clothing on top of him. But about a month ago, he decided to "tough it out" and stay in the basket until I finished sorting and he could "rest in peace". Here he is when I finished sorting:

Here's a closeup of him sleeping, as usual, with at least one eye open:

This is the cutest thing I have seen today for sure- beautiful!

DaveHS DaveHS , thank you, Dave. Every Lon Humphrey I've ever seen is stellar. This is a fantastic design, I have only really taken it out into the woods a few times, so this serves notice to carry more, thanks for that reminder. Perfect four finger grip, brilliant color to the burl, and a screaming blade. I believe I saw a video, or read, that sheaths are made by local Amish (?). They are very nice.

Just up the hill from prior pics. Treeing squirrels is permitted.
