Dogs and traditional knives

View attachment 2800007View attachment 2800008my Lil buddy lost his 2 friends that live next door to a fire,he was messed up hearing their distress and so was the wife and I,but the smoke was to bad to go in,and thick and black because of fuel poured on the floor.but it was hard to sleep last night.
I'm so so sorry, what an awful sound, I love Dogs so much I am glad I wasn't there as I would probably endanger myself hearing that and trying to get to them- that's just shocking, terrible news, I feel for the owners as well- they must be beside themselves. 😢😢

It was arson, and the pets were locked in a room,it was scattered with fuel so you had thick black smoke and flames jumping up everywhere,,she was charged 5 counts of animal cruelty.

I hope she spends the rest of her days under the jail. I hate you, your wife and you furry one have to deal with this

It's great to see that you're looking after your old hound like that! They still love going on rides & adventures no matter how old they are!

I made a side ramp for my truck when one of my K9's started getting mobility issues too a few years back.
I got some plywood I had & reinforced the base for support. Then fitted it so I could just slide it behind the seats into the cab to store while we were traveling. I also put in some "ribs" to act as small steps & laid down some carpet for extra traction.

P.S. Yes, I noticed...I love how you matched the coloring on your hound with your Boker! 😉

Yup the dog and knife have the same coloring, the tire acts as a spring which helps as well.
Ps:my lil buddy barks eveyday at the vacant lot where the dogs perished in the fire next door.he barks and waits for a response ,he does this every time he goes out.

The first part is good to hear Oldy Oldy , but the second part in the "Post Script" is heartbreaking to hear about... I'm just at a loss for words for everyone involved...
I remember when you posted when it happened. Just flat out terrible ☹️

In an effort to lighten the mood on this thread, Mrs Hoovie & I have been joking about opening a doggie daycare 😂
This is the fourth one we watched for friends/family this year so far.
We were taking care of this one recently for my wife's coworker when she went out of town to visit family. She's 14 years old & loves going on car rides, even though she's nervous around new people.
I jokingly gave her "nugget" as a nickname while she was here because she is so tiny.

& Some hound related knife content.

Since Lacey's knee went out we've needed a ramp for her to get in and out of the truck - it folds in half and stows behind the front seat (under the dog sling we have in the backseat).

Here's Whiskey (left) and Lacey (right) on an adventure at a nearby park today. (This pic taken by my wife.)

And I had this in my pocket.

That takes alot less room then hauling a tire and a board around.

There has been a lot of "infrastructure improvement" projects in my part of town over the past 5 years, and they're still going on in various surrounding neighborhoods this spring and summer. Here's our dog Gandalf wishing he could use heavy equipment to do some of his important digging a couple of years ago when they were repaving the street at the end of the alley that runs next to our house.

Thank you everyone for sharing your awesome furry friends with us, I chuckle and "ooh and aaaah" over each and every photo, they are just the greatest, I can't wait for the time when I get closer to retirement where we can go to a rescue home and choose a friend who needs a loving home, I miss my pals terribly and miss having them in my life, so coming in here is just awesome!! 😀

Gandalf has that pondering/wisdom type look on his face as if he's thinking "If only I could, but since I can't, I can only instruct, I can not force"...

Awesome pic 👍🏻

And looks like the spirit patch on Mason's lower back is going for his Cold Steel Eland ratchet knife.
Mason will be 14 in September. That spirit patch has never ceased to amaze me ... with eyes and all even.
Lou Colby was a steward of the Colby American Pit Bull Terrier until his passing in 2011 at age 90.
Lou's father, John Colby started the Colby bloodline in the late 1800's.
All together those two men, John and his son Lou, stewarded the Colby line for close to 120yrs.
Mason's pedigree is pure Colby top and bottom, no outs or crosses, all the way back.
Owning Mason is like owning a piece of history.
Mason's litter was the last with Lou's blessing before he passed and I always thought that spirit patch, a sign.
