Dogs and traditional knives

Out and about with Maggie and Brady...

Maggie is a sweet 9 year-old girl who we adopted when she was just a year old.

We adopted Brady (who is 3) two weeks ago -- in mid-August, he was rescued from an Amish puppy mill. He is such a sweet boy, and is quickly adapting to his forever home. It brings a smile to my face to watch him running at top speed and exploring to his heart's content!

Sad day today. We had to put down Gandalf, who'd been with us for more than 15 years.
Here's the last photo I have of him, sleeping on the bench by the kitchen table with Rusty a week ago. Rusty (brown) is in the foreground, Gandalf (black) is farther back. Rusty has been with us only a couple of weeks (and I'm not clear on the official ownership situation).

Gandalf was having lots of health issues the past couple of years, but he just "played the cards he was dealt" and was happy almost all the time. Best dog I ever had.

Here's a photo of Gandalf last December, with only one eye and basically deaf and unable to go on walks more than a mile on his own 4 feet anymore. Sometimes I'd take him with me for a longer walk in that bag.

Oops! Dogs AND Knives. Here's Gandalf on his 14th birthday in November of 2024:

I so sorry for your loss. I'm glad you and Gandalf had each other.

Sad day indeed GT
But we don’t want them to suffer. It was a year last month we had to put Buddy down, he was 14.
Great pictures to remember by.
