I don’t know how I forgot this one. This Russell was the only knife in my pocket every day for more than 20 years until I started rotating others a few years ago. It not only has no bolsters, it doesn’t even have liners! Just some tough, red micarta that Russell called “Rucarta.” It’s light as a feather for a 4 inch knife. The ATS-34 steel blade holds an edge forever. I gotta start carrying this thing again!

Here’s a couple from Tinus Stone. These are robust slip joints. They pinch open. No nail nicks. Strong action though. I like the no pins or pivot look. I like them. Rainy day here in Santa Cruz.
