Don't Need No Bolsters!!!

Jack! I can't quite read the stamp but is that another Wright Bros. knife?! I can't post mine now but will try to tomorrow. Since you sent that to me I've spent a bunch of time trying to fing anything else from them online. It would be exciting if this was one.
No Tyson, it's a Needham Brothers knife. Your knife is the only one I've had. Glad you're back home now buddy 👍

Bolsters are needed for knives that run the risk of being dropped on concrete. I dropped a Sunfish Forge knife with bone covers and no bolster on its butt end. The bone around the landyard tube cracked. If it had a bolster, there’d be no crack.

The knife was designed for hard use, O1 steel, flat/convex grind, steel pivot pin, bolster on the blade end with thicker brass liners. To bad it didn’t have butt end bolster. Luckily the crack is small and hasn’t impacted the knife’s functionality (it’s a user and dates from ~1990) but it certainly effected its resale value.
