Don't Need No Bolsters!!!

If my memory serves, Tony Bose told me, or posted here, that (his) bolster-less (shadow pattern) knives were stronger than the ones with bolsters.

I know for a fact that Jerry Halfrich told me that his blades would snap before the pivot would fail.

Sadly, I regularly come across examples (William Rodgers)! 😖

I believe that, if only from my own experience while serving in the army combat engineers. I saw so many of those Camillus M.L.K. 808's horribly abused by young G.I.'s who only knew it they broke it, the supply room had more of them. Amazingly, very few of them ever broke.

Thanks for all the great contributions to this thread, Jack!! You have a wonderful supply of Shadows!!
Thanks for the kind words Charlie, it was a great thread idea 🙂👍
An Antonini on a Martini! 😁
Oh the horror, the horror!!!!!!

It's too bad the perpetrator is long dead, he deserves some sort of execution. Burning at the stake, or perhaps drawing and quartering?😬
Definitely! I sometimes come across penknives with a 'hole' from where someone has hit a live cable, and very occassionally with 2 blades like that because the owner didn't learn their lesson the first time! 🫣
