Don't Regret the Snark

So I'm laying here, recuperating from a morning on my feet spent working on some Christmas presents for my girls. Neurosurgeon called yesterday and asked would I like to come to the hospital Friday and have my back surgery done, they had a cancellation. I said "hell, yeah",

Good luck on the surgery man!

I had to go in for a surgery months ago on a friday the 13th. It didnt go very well.. I dont want to go in depth but it was stopped in the middle and not finished. So i got a call last week telling me they want me to come back in this Friday.. Another Friday the 13th. I think they are experimenting on me. I said ill come in for consultation but i WILL NOT be getting any type of surgery or major test done until after XMAS, AND NOT on a Friday the 13th!!

Also that Mora kydex looks great bro.

It's only set into the handle about a ¼" so I drilled in another ½" or so so the epoxy would (hopefully) hold it.

When I make handles for ferro-rods, I file a groove all the way around the part that goes into the handle. It gives the epoxy a little more to grab onto.

Jiffy-Pop works good over a campfire.

P.S. Don't forget to wish AIG a happy birthday if you see him!

Wow, what a week for the reference.

I spotted a loose glove lying on the ground outside of a shopping center last night and quickly pointed out that the juice was on the loose

Somehow, no one knew what I was talking about...

Well it has been dang near 20 years since that happened...

About to experiment with poping microwave popcorn in the oven

Why? Microwaves ain't expensive man. Or is it just terrible popcorn and you're bored? I tried some bacon flavored popcorn once. It didn't taste anything like bacon and was actually pretty terrible.

That kydex looks real nice.
Thank you. That's only 'cause you can't see it up close....

Meanwhile, in my mind, the voice says this:
(I'm pleased with the results, and I think my kids will be happy, but....I've still got a lot to learn. I also tend towards self-criticism and am a little AR - not all the time, just when I'm making or building something. I'll get out the freakin' calipers to try and make something even; then I grind off too much for lack of skill. Which gives me a chance to breathe and realize I just don't have time to start all over again, so....I try not to look for all the mistakes, so I can get on with my life.)

Thanks for the compliment.

Thanks for the tip. I was thinking about drilling and pinning it, but didn't want the hassle. Just checked out the el cheapo Coghlan's ferro, and it works great with the two little Moras. The rod even stayed in the handle! It's a pretty good ferro rod for the money if you're willing to re-handle it or just fix the handle it comes with. Sometimes it ain't worth it. I don't want to try and skin a fart to save a nickel and ruin a 25¢ knife.

She looks like a total plant....the peeps too high and she's not anchored at all, gripping the bow too hard, plus fingers on a compound bow?!. Sure is cute, though.

Elbow is better. Going to Chattanooga for three weeks of bouldering. Worst shape of my life - heavy and weak. Oh well, gotta start from somewhere.

How's your shoulder?

Weak and still some limit on my range of motion, BUT it doesnt hurt like it did, and they are saying the range of motion stuff is pretty normal for this surgery, especially considering how badly it was damaged.
My left arm is actually visibly smaller. Makes me sad. Just when I was getting back in climbing shape..lol

Its mixing two completely different methods of killing, savagery lol.

Its not an arrow if it doesn't cut

But I always wanted a gun, that would fire a bullet that wouldnt travel far, would drop like a brick and be subject to the whims of the wind......... Oh Oh and was Quiet...lol All kidding aside, I think its kinda cool, In a Dukes of Hazard kinda way.
