Don't Regret the Snark

I've hear talk that the file makes a pretty good "field sharpener" in a pinch... I dunno I've never done it.
The one on my Blast is perfect for machetes, hawks etc - softer steel that really only needs a "quick'n'dirty" toothy edge. Not so good for knife blades.

As long as i dont become sensitive/allergic/intolerant to oysters ill be ok, i honestly dont know if its an allergy or intolerance.

I am not a doctor (any kind), and do not play one on the Intertubes. However it is my understanding that if you get itchy and take benedryl for shrimp, then you have an 'allergy' which is, I believe, the most dangerous reaction. Benedryl is an antihistimine, and histimine reactions come from an allergic reaction in your immune system.

I have the black stainless version of the Gerber multiplier. I haven't used it much since it rides around as an emergency toolkit in my hunting/hiking pack. Gerber blades tend to be soft for my taste, but I've thought about replacing multi-tool blades in the past... Hmm..

Ill steer clear of crabs too then just in case!! Better safe than sorry.

More oysters for me LOL

Well that sucks. I dont care about a file but i need pliers, knife, screwdriver, and a can opener for sure and a saw is a huge plus.

Whats wrong with the gerber? i just looked it up and I like how the pliers open out with one hand? And they seem to run a little cheaper than leatherman. is there a quality issue?

The Gerber 07550 Needlenose Multi-Plier 600... looks about perfect, i like the pliers on the diesel a bit more though.

I think this one would do it. http://www.leatherman.com/10.html

Thanks everyone, I'm already sitting more comfortably than I have in a couple of months.

WW, +1 on the Leatherman Wave: It has the saw, can opener and I think the new one has a new and improved bit driver. Pliers work well, plus Leatherman will fix it free for the cost of outbound postage, IIRC. Mine went back once - one of the leaf springs broke and it had a ¼" gap when folded closed. Still an excellent tool, just the skeletool is lighter and all I need for work. Wave rides around in my murse and my paracord kit. As for Gerber, meh. I've had a couple, one is in our car glove box and never gets used, and the other I just got and will probably give to a "non-power user" for Christmas. I'd stick with Leatherman, IIWY.

I might need to call my father, he picked up the charge TTi a month or 2 ago after i told him about it, he loved his wave and i told him the charge used a better steel on the blade, so he went the next day and got the charge tti, he doesnt even know what s30v is LMAO but he went and got it anyway... But he told me while there he also picked up another wave on clearance with open package for 30 bucks.. maybe he will let me get it since he has 2 waves and a charge... But man he is a bigger hoarder than me so im not counting on it LMAO

they've been predicting 6" in the Boston area, but so far it's only been light flurries on and off down here in Li'l Rhody.
Of course it's 16F, so I'm not complaining about the lack of weather...

it's coming right for you http://radar.weather.gov/ridge/Conus/Loop/northeast_loop.gif

And thanks to everyone for your well wishes for surgery; I got home about 11:15 today after an overnight "observation" stay at the hospital. Everything went well from what the doc told me. Pulled out "one big piece" of disc material that was pressing on my sciatic nerve. Already quite a bit of leg pain reduction; be sore for a little while from the surgery and the IV. Glad I decided to do it, glad to be done with it.

in and out, that's what we want to hear.

now, work on those abs :D

I don't like Gerber knives but I do like the Gerber multi tool. The one handed opening is very helpful. I don't know if the other brands are one handed now too but its much better than the kind that open like a butterfly knife.

I've already got a six-pack....it's just hidden under a protective layer of blubber from all the other six-packs.

i usually keep a couple in the garage, in the battery compartment of the riding lawn mower, where the wife won't look, cuz i keep telling her it's broken :D

oh wait. that's not my life. where'd that come from :D

Still carry an old beat up WAVE. Every time I forget it, I need it.

Ain't that always the way? That's the model I'm looking at. I hear it mentioned a lot, and I can see why. A little more stuff than I typically need, but I guess that's better than not enough :D

Angie has an old Gerber multitool that she loves, but I can't stand it. Feels flimsy, like it's made out of old tin cans or something. Every LM I've ever picked up has been real solid, so I'll probably stick with that brand.

I welcomed a Queen into my home last night.

Off to the... naw, just kidding. Queen makes some nice stuff. I really like my D2 Mountain Man... basically a Buck 110 with better steel, FFG and prettier scales. Lighter, too.

It's been a long, long time since I heard anything good about Gerber. :(
