Don't Regret the Snark

Maybe it's just me but I have not heard too many good things about Gerber lately.

I just got a brand new Gerber m600? Multi tool given to me from a guy at work.
Fresh out of the package it had a ding in the edge. Must have slipped by QC.
I have one of the old original Leatherman tools. It's been a good one.

I have an original Leatherman also. It is nice and small and light. And a Super Tool 200 which is not so small or light.

I think the Wave is best of both worlds - not too under-tooled and not too big. The other thing I like about it vs. the Gerber I carried for a while is that the blade edge lines up with the bottom edge of the handle whereas the Gerber blade edge lined up on the center of the handle; very awkward to cut against anything, like a cutting board.

Wow, there's been some snarking going on here lately.

Just got back from aiding in a ladies self defense seminar, it was a good day

Saw the Leatherman Sidekick and Wingman on sale at Roam Beepo.

Once I got used to carrying my Vic Swiss tool Spirit.... I feel nekkid without it. It bumps into things every once in a while, but its pure usefulness makes it worth a little aggravation now and then.

Doc

I am all about the sidekick. I have a New wave and it was just a bit heavy and bulky (I carried mine with the extra pocket clip) but the sidekick is just a smidge smaller and lighter with all the tools I was looking for. The spring loaded pliers are pretty sweet.

I have both the original Leatherman, and the Gerber multitool. I really like the Leatherman the best

Just used the saw on my Vic Camper to cut the top of the Christmas tree off. Damn near gave me wood.

I just heard the snowplow go by....had to get my work truck off the street today, but the damned battery was dead from sitting for 5 weeks - nothing plugged in, what the hell kills the battery? Ford Transit is the worst vehicle my company ever bought. I like Ford, and maybe the Transit would be Good for some trades, but with the roof overloaded with ladders and too much crap in the cargo area, that thing goes down the road like a boat that won't plane out. The front is so high people always flash their high beams at me, even though I'm driving with low beams on, and there's so little weight on the front wheels that they spin even on dry pavement if you step on the gas a little hard. POS.

That sidekick looks like it has just the right amount of stuff in it.... And at almost half the price of the wave! very cool thanks Guyon.

Also it looks like the knife will open without opening the thing up, like the wave. Me likey.

Kind of a burly day here. We got hammered with a winter storm that hit most of southern Ontario. Tons of drifting snow and limited visibility. Everything, including walking the dogs took longer than expected. Finally finished packing and going to head out for Chattanooga tomorrow morning.

It's front-wheel drive? That's all I need to hear to convince me not to buy one. Not that I was gonna.
