Don't trade with Buck 112

Dang only $40 is bank fees. Figured it would be higher then that!!! Every international money order (Thats not the right name but something like that) It was around $50 fee per order.

I think everyone got the short end here, be thankfull that something came of it. Not to say you should be happy (you shouldnt) But at least you got back 80% more or less of the money.

This still pisses me off, but what you goign to do?
This prick Kasper, is going to make a tidy profit on his end selling the knives, and you guys are getting screwd. Aint it great, makes you want to run up and welcome him with open arms eh? Ahh but his mommy will probably be the one who paid for the wires. This crap gets under my skin.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but so far it seems that Rob is the only one who's unhappy with Kasper's settlement. I'm very happy that Kasper did what he promised and wired us payment. Kasper has made a great effort to make things right here. I know that he paid plenty on his end to wire money overseas and he was not aware of the additional costs on this end of the transaction. He sent enough money to pay everyone what they were due if it hadn't been for the expenses on my end. In all fairness to Kasper, he didn't realize their would be additional fees and he did what he promised. I think Kasper has a good heart and deserves a lot of credit here.

Dan.

Dan,

Did you receive $20 less than was agreed upon by Kasper and was that a surprise to you? It's hard to be unhappy if you have agreed to the terms and had time to come to grips with whatever loss you might incur.

Kasper did wire payment, but it was $70 short of his public agreement of reimbursing the loss to the three of you. Though Kasper did wire money, it was incomplete. If additional funds are required to fulfill his debt, it is his obligation to then wire more. A debt is not complete until it is paid.

If you wish to be benevolent with your personal funds, that is your choice. Dave and Rob are still owed money. If they wish to individually extend Kasper leniency and forgiveness of debt, they may do so.

Hello again.

I, myself will chalk this whole episode up as a learning experience and move on. I learned to be a little more careful in my dealings.

I still will trust people here, but I may get a reference or two if a member is new... who knows?

One good thing did come out of this, on my end anyway. I was very impressed by Ron's customer service, and willingness to be the 'middleman' in the transaction between myself and Kasper (Ron had no idea that this would happen). I went and bought a SEAL 2000 (I wanted one anyway, but thought that I'd support Ron's company asap.) So Thanks, Ron, I will continue to purchase SOG's, I have a Paratool, A SEAL 2000, and one of those little keychain knives...I want one of the new see through handled ones with that new lock, looks cool.

---------

If I get a check from Kasper for the remainder,I would be pleased, but I'm not going to hold my breath or worry about it, either way.

Dave, Dan & Rob,

I would caution all three of you to consider carefully whether you choose to publicly forgive Kasper's debt. It is how Kasper resolves this issue that his future “character” here in BladeForums will be built.

Only each of you can determine your individual actions.

Dave: Thanks for the very kind words! It was a pleasure to help you guys out.

Ron, I DO agree with you. I guess that now, anything that will transpire is in Kaspers court, so to speak. If he chooses to make good, well good on him. If not, It's his conscience that will suffer, not mine or anyone else's. Telling it straight, I had already accepted the 'fact' that I was out 1 Strider MT. I can't help but be pleased that I got most of my $$$ back.

I still would like to reiterate that it would have been very easy for him to just log off and never log back on. I certainly would not book a $700 flight to Denmark to find the person who screwed me out of a $325 knife. I am not defending Kasper, what he did was wrong.

However, The fact here is, he has returned most of what was taken. I realize that making amends does not make evrything perfect again, but it's a good start.

I guess I am saying that I feel better myself that Kasper has at least attempted to make things right.

Have any of you had things stolen from you? I know you all have. I have had things stolen from me in the past, and it sucked. The worst part is, I felt VIOLATED. I was not really worried about the material things, I just could not understand why someone would do this to ME.

I had many things 'disappear' from my dorm room in college, and many things 'disappear' when I had roommates with lots of friends coming over for parties.

I felt completely S***TY after having my stuff ripped off. No one ever came forward and said "I did it. I'll pay you back."

I'm not defending Kasper, but by doing what he did, I do not feel VIOLATED any more, and that is worth more than money can buy.

Why should Kasper be given any CREDIT? If Kasper did what he was supposed to do in the first place, this would never have happened.

You want to give him another chance, great. But don't sing his praises for making good on a scam now that he has been had.

Those that engaged in a deal with Kasper did not get what was agreed upon and are still not "whole".

Atta boy Kasper

I understand what you are saying , as well, Wolf...

I guess if it seemed that I was giving Kasper CREDIT, I did not make myself clear in my posts.

What he did was dishonorable. I don't have much, but what I do have is my honor and dignity. I hold those to be my two most valuable possessions in this life. I will never endanger either. It never took an experience like this for me to learn these things, but to some it may (Kasper).

Ira, you are an LEO, if I remember correctly (one thing I don't have is a good memory) I can totally understand how you would feel in this situation, as you have seen the shi**y side of human beings in a way that I probably never will. And I am damn glad that there are people who do so, for the benefit of the populace.

Again, I am not patting Kasper on the back. I am simply stating that it looks like he learned a valuable life-lesson.

I am upset that this happened to us. It sucks to think that there is a possibility of this happening in the future. I think the vast majority of Forumites here are good, honorable people. I have met some great people here, and have enjoyed being a memder. As soon as I get a few bucks, I will join as a gold member to help with the costs of running this forum.

Dan, at the risk of belaboring a point which I was willing to drop.... I am unhappy that I paid $30 to get my money back, everyone else $20...

I'm very happy that Kasper did what he promised and wired us payment...
Dan.

Me too...BUT.. It is not our or Dan's responsibility to cover the costs incurred. If someone had simply said "Hey Rob, the banking fees, and long distance calls, and inconvenience are going to cost the cashier money" I'd have said take some cash off the top to cover the expenses, and divide it among us. I think anyone that has dealt with me knows I am not stingy in that sense. I would have liked to have been asked...

Kasper e-mailed me that he would send $450, told Dan $425, sent $430 and assigned $30 of that to Dan in the note I posted.

At this point I am happy to have gotten about 90% of my money back, and will chalk the rest up to a lesson that could have cost me 10 times more.

Dan, I will tell you publically what I e-mailed privately:
I have no hard feeling towards you, we all need to stick together.

I would like to think I have made this clear, and would love for the matter to drop.:D

Bygones?
Rob

....... Kasper rides again!
Did anybody sell or offer him a Walter brend fixedblade?
He wants to trade it and has sent a picture. This prick is unbelievable ..........
Dogsoldier

Where is he looking to trade this knife? Is it on MesserForum, or one of the forums over here? I did not sell or trade him this knife, just wondering where he has reappeared.

Keith, he had offered the Brent #2 to a member of the European www.MESSERFORUM.net, I have seen the picture, it shows the knife posted on a Southernflag with a watch besides. Is this Your knife? The Messerforum member knows an address of KE in Denmark.
Dogsoldier

I am contacted often by this guy with all different kinds of requests for custom knives.......first he wanted me to do a Brend clone after sending me pictures he claimed he had drawn of his "dream" knife...what was obvious was that he had taken pictures of Brend knives and runned them trough photoshop and then claiming it was something he just put on paper in artclass......sigh Lately he offered same Brend knife in trade for my work which I refused.

I did a seach on messerform and found this tread: http://www.messerforum.net/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=12581&highlight=brend

Excuse me....I BOUGHT MY WALTER BREND #2 100% LEGALLY FROM MR. BOBBY BRANTON. Now I would like for these personal attacks to stop. My Brend is not stolen merchandise or somethin similar. I was meerely asking around on the german knifeforum because I had an interest in custom Emerson knives....No I understand why you feel the way you do about me but I will not have my name dragged through the mud for something I havent done. The only reason i tried to do business on Messerforum is that it was within Europe and it therefor would be easier to sell my knives through that forum.....I alson tried to sell some busse knives which has been purchased legally form Dirk Linnemayer in Germany......

I will stop making inquiries in the knife-world from this post.....

As for you Jens: I merely tried to trade you my Brend, because my economy sucks ass and therefor I asked you for that.....Yderligere vil jeg bare sige at jeg stillede dig nogel spørgsmål, men når man inegn penge har er det jo lidt svært at sætte dig igang med et projekt af den ene eller anden art.

Take care. Kasper Egerup.

Oh....and if anybody is wondering....Bobby Branton is the same Mr. Branton as the one from Branton knifecompany....the money was sent to an account registerred to bladeart....damn I even paid taxes for that knife.....
