A generally good guy through & through.The original "Happy Birthday thread" guy.He always made you smile with his posts,whether it be a gorgeous knife or a quick witted remark.

He never missed anyone's birthday, sometimes he'd start a half a dozen happy birthday threads or more in a day. Keep the sun at your back, your face in the wind and the long windin' road stretched out before you brother and enjoy the ride.

We have been friends for some ten years now, Doug, I will miss you terribly, many of us will, but we will have
our fond memories of you, and your contributions to this forum, your posts here will serve as an inspiration

Yes, that is what I remember him as. That was pretty cool of him to do that. Condolences to the family. It is a greater sense of loss when one of the good guys die....

Hey all--Doug's only nephew here. My name is Ryan. While I may or may not check back here in the next few days, I highly suspected I would find many praises in Doug's honor here in the forums. You're each right, my uncle was a class act with the most loving heart. Perhaps I'll write a short memoir for you all on his behalf someday, but know that your words have brought tears of joy to my eyes upon reading. In more ways than most of you probably know, you and BF were Doug's main connection to the world that the vast majority of us take for granted every day, so thank you from the bottom of hearts for loving him here in the forums. I will be printing your kind words out and sharing with Uncle Doug's mom (my grandmother) and the rest of the family. They deserve to know just how far his reach was felt.
