Doug Ritter Mini-RSK® MK1-G2 Available!

I wasn't super careful with the swarf (this is a user after all) so there are some minor, superficial scratches... And I need to give the heel of the knife a little extra tlc when I have some time (I hate that spot near the ricasso that is always missed), but the tip damage is all fixed for the most part. :)

Received my orange mini a few days ago and have really been enjoying it. I always wanted to like the mini grip and owned several, including a few mini Ritter grips, but I always thought the handle was just a little bit too short (and I don't have large hands). Enter the mini rsk and it is (almost) everything I thought the mini grip should have been. Excellent blade shape, steel, and smoking sharp edge? Check. Factory G-10 handle scales in a cool color? Check. Long enough handle for full grip but short and thin enough for easy EDC? Check. Ridiculously smooth action? Check. Good value for the parts, steel, and fit/finish? Check. It really hits a ton of boxes for me.

I wasn't crazy about the factory clip (it had a hot spot at the tip of the clip) but that was easily remedied by installing a BM deep carry clip! The only other "complaint" is that I don't like how aggressive the G-10 is in the middle of the scales, right where the pocket clip rests. I'm not crazy about knives that shred my pants pockets. I thought about taking a little sandpaper to where the clip falls, but after installing the BM clip, it's not an issue anymore. The Benchmade clip has a little less tension than the stock clip and slides in and out of my pockets easily. So the installation of a new clip fixed the only two issues I had with it, and it's now essentially a perfect EDC knife for me! Can't wait to carry and use it more! Great job Mr. Ritter and Hogue!!

I've been carrying my orange mini RSK for about a week and am really enjoying it. It's so light and smooth, that it's a joy to carry and use.
I did knock down the grip texture under the clip to save my pants. Just a tad is all that's needed.

I got mine in a couple of days ago and have carried it around the house. I don't like smaller knives a ton but in gym shorts around the house small usually equals light. I've been looking for a knife to rival the Bugout and thought the Deka would be that knife but I didn't care for it overall. While a little smaller than the Bugout the knife ticks the boxes I'm interested in for a lightweight EDC.

20cv & G10 for $140 - wow!

I almost sold it today but pulled the add and kept it.

Picked this up off the forums thanks @fewpop on a smooth transaction. I had the larger version but was too large it turned out for me, also the larger one the scales did seem slippery compared to this one, this has what I would call a thumbprint that has a nice grippy surface. Blade was sharp on arrival. Action is very smooth with solid lockup, no issues. The clip, there I think they need to consider a different way as this has very light retention and you do feel it in hand but that is the curse of most clips I think.

I agree these bright screws do not help much, blackend hardware would be very nice to get some of that too !

I did radius the start of the edge, taking off that acute 90 degree point that would hang up the knife on material, now with that slight mod material will ride up and out of that area and onto the razor sharp edge.

All in all, a nice carry, I did add my bobtail fob on there with a Viking Rune bead between two tightly formed diamond knots and a whipping knot near the handle to keep it under control.

I’m with you Gary. The large was just too big for me as well. I was praying they would release a small and of course I was 4 days late on the release and they were sold out. I put my pre order in on the 12th and am “patiently” waiting...
Anybody have an insider info as to when the black ones will be back in stock and ship?

Mine was a preorder after the first batch shipped and mine shipped a couple days ago.

Where is that from?

That’s a nice color. Did you dye that yourself?

Haha I was kidding. But yes I did dye it myself. These were originally orange and I used some blue dye to get it to turn this dark cherry wine color.
If it wasn't next to anything black, you'd think it was black. The dye did accentuate the grain of the G10. Almost looks like a really dark mahogany.

That’s an awesome dye job. The color is stellar. Was the end result on purpose or did it just end up that way?

It was my first time dying g10 so it was more of an experiment that turned out pretty well. Was hoping for more blue but ended up with that dark maroon color. Not complaining though as it still looks pretty nice.

Great job. Looks amazing.

Got mine on Saturday, a day of carring and it gets high marks . The only thing that could be problematic would be the g10 grips . A little rougher than most but a month of carry and they will smooth out . A sharp, centered blade and a decent action . And in price point that easy to enjoy . A big yes on the little Ritter. I own a benchmade 940 and this action seems a little better made . I edc a small sebenza and this is in that size range. The clip is ok too. Not great but useable. I think it mite be able to use Benchmade clips . But I haven't tried it yet
Oh one last thing I am totally sold on 20cv. It mite be the best blade steel period
