Doug Ritter Mini-RSK® MK1-G2 Available!

I'm excited about getting one of these sometime (hopefully soon). Can anybody tell me if the thumb studs screw off? Or did they press them in on the mini? For custom hardware purposes of course.

Well a day of carring and flipping. The only dislike is the rough scales . Not to bad on the hands .
But with that deep carry clip it is difficult to remove from the pocket . But in wet or cold conditions , that is a plus .
A day of flipping and it good to go . I put a few drops of mineral oil on the washer with my precision oiler .
On the sharpness , i am going to use it until it looses that fine edge . Then I will touch it up with my golden stone.

Did anybody else see this video? Looks like the guy tested the hardness of his mini RSK and it came back at 59.4, well outside of the spec of 61-62. Disappointed to see that it came back that soft. Has anyone else tested the HRC of their 20CV Hogue RSK's?

That's a full sized one in the vid, not a mini (mini's don't have the torx on the thumbstuds, one in the vid does). Same dude did HRC testing on a couple of others, they're in the google spreadsheet listed in that vid (a m390 @ 60hrc, 20cv @61.5).
I don't know what HRC mine are at, but they've both been performing great for me thusfar.

wright88 wright88 M390 is a little more difficult to get the heat treat consistent in big batches. Bat Shabazz just did a vid on his RSK mini. It's worth a watch.

Just watched Nick's review and I agree with what he said. I am also curious about the HRC of both this model and the full size version. Would be significantly disappointed if it turns out to be sub 60 across the board (actually 62+ would be much preferred).

Now that I look at the picture, ther mini looks a little lighter in color. Light is already fading here; I'll try to remember to take them outside to check tomorrow when I get home.

Thanks! I've seen other brands (Steel Will Cutjack in blue, and Kizer Begleiter also in blue) purposely make their mini's slightly different than their full- sizes, and was just wondering if that was the case here with the rsk's.
I'll try for some pics tomorrow, too.
Thanks again!

Here's some decent pics.
I was just curious if this was a thing, I haven't seen any mention anywhere of the mini's being a slightly different color.
I got the full size here at BF in a trade, and I got the mini new from Knifeworks.
I was worried for a second that the full size I got here may have been counterfeit, but it seems pretty solid.

62+ in a large scale production setup? Cant think it can be done in my experience. Please correct me if I am wrong.

I have my M390 at 62 and it is a bear of a process.

Can get it to 64 but it wont be as corrosion resistant as what I want and cannot think a production piece will be aiming for it.

Still enjoying my RSK

Thanks for chiming in. Yeah 62+ might be too much to ask for but I believe I came across multiple posts here saying some M390 Spydercos were tested at 61+ HRC.
