Dr T. Knives?

As part of my ongoing effort to confirm that he who dies with the most toys wins, I received my latest Dr. T knife today. A very nicely done equal end jack covered with some vintage Westinghouse micarta. It has a deep butterscotch color, and you can see the narrow black liner that was in the micarta. David needed to split the block in two so we could get a line on each side like this.

The fit & finish are very well done as has come to be expected in the knives David crafts, and are just a pleasure to own. His knives come highly recommended by me, and should you be considering a build, he's just a lot of fun to work with. And quite patient. Lol.

Here are a few pics. The nicer ones are courtesy of Dr. T and I apologize for my poor photo skills. Too cold today to try for an outdoor pic. The last shot is my small Dr. T collection.

That Jack is a beauty, Joe! Nice collection of Dr. T.s you have there!

Dr t knives are very well made, fancy and attention to detail, he is very skilled.

On to my fourth knife from dr t.

Lovely knives.

Worth every penny.

Custom perfection.

Just completed this Honk Falls 1/2 Trapper. Apparently this knife was originally made by the Napanock Knife Company in the 1920's .

I love that 1/2 trapper! The grinds on that clip blade are splendid! The bone is perfect! That is exactly what a custom trapper should be. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Chris

Stunning work on the half trapper, Dr. Taber!! I see Napanoch in your grind. And...talk about tight;)

Thank you very much for the nice remarks. I need to thank Tony Bose for providing me with the pattern for this knife and some of the history. The Honk Falls 1/2 Trapper was made by the Honk Falls Knife Company. This Company was formed in 1921 by some employees of the Napanoch Knife Company. Honk Falls knives were made in that factory until 1929 when a fire destroyed the factory. Production of Honk Falls knives ceased at that point.

This thread is fantastic! I've been using a dr. t stag hunter on deer since 2011. My wife and I were gifted a few customs that I let work whenever we hunt. Keep the pictures coming everyone! Dr. Taber... You have become an amazing knife maker. I'm really enjoying your style.

Picked up this great little Barlow this week. Big thanks to Dr. T. for taking such good care of me from start to finish - great blade!!

Hey guys -

I was able to score a nice little mammoth swayback at a good price made by Dr. T.

Very well crafted as to be expected from David's workbench.

The mammoth has a real distinctive look and matches from side to side quite well. It measures right about 3 1/4" closed and carries very lightweight. Be a nice knife for when a person needs to wear slacks or something, but I think it'd handle daily tasks just fine too.

Wasn't sure how well I was going to like the no bolsters look, but once you have it in your hands, it's fine.

I was pleased to add it to my collection and just thought I'd share a couple pics.

Thanks! Joe
