Dr T. Knives?

Thank you Joe for your kind words. I hope you enjoy using them as much as I do making them. I really do need to give credit to Kerry Hampton for reviving the matchstiker pull. He is the knife maker that went back in the old knife books to find and then develop a technique to reproduce the vintage look. In fact, he provided me with the first ten or so pieces of blade steel so I could provide that look on some of my knives. So Kerry Hampton deserves full credit for the look that appears on some of my knives. Attached is a knife I just finished wit a new twist for me.

I had to hunt around the house for a box of wooden matches to see if the match striker works, and it did. But then I was in a panic when I seen the soot on the blade. It wiped right off though. Lol.

Your new knife using that material is just pretty cool looking to me. Nice job!

That's a real interesting handle material Dr.T. Is that real wire in there made just like chicken wire? Or are my eyes fooling me? I'm having a hard time figuring out the scale for some reason, those must be tiny wires!

Credit goes to you David for recognizing another true talent, Kerry Hampton, superior knife maker and serious photographer.
Your knives get better with each new release, keep it up, you have a GREAT mentor.

Congrats, Jon. The crosscut mammoth and the exaggerated gunstock frame make this one truly unique!

I am also a big fan of the extension spring for the pen blade.

Thanks!!

I am a huge fan of extension springs, its just that extra touch that sets a knife off. Gives it that precise look.

I also love the gunstock pattern David uses, much more "gun-stocky" than Case's pattern, which I really like.

David did an incredible job on that Gunstock for you. Those mammoth covers are spectacular. Very Nice Indeed!

Holt smokes! That cross cut is GORGEOUS! Dave did an amazing job on that one!

I recently got a request for a tanto-style blade. This is the way I did it and used some burlap micarta to give it a "user" look.

Very nice Doc, looks like you've got a little Jared Oeser influence going on there! Jared has had a very positive
influence to traditional folding knife design. It's wonderful to see you expanding your horizons to the East.

Jeff
