Earl Sees the World!

Jack, reading Thomas Paine may influence Earl to declare independence so keep the "Common Sense" pamphlet away from him especially tomorrow.

Hey, he's got his own room, what more could he want? ;) :D

Nice work sir  Earl is currently in Leeds, England

I will update it now! Thanks!

best

Great photos, Jack, in spite of the yahoos going crazy over your camera. I'm looking forward to more of Earl's travels.

Thanks Brian, very kind of you

... delusional ego-mania seems to be rampant among large sections of the adult population. ...

While some of these people are happy to share the most intimate details of their private lives with anyone unlucky enough to be within earshot, courtesy of their hands-free mobile phones, and who spend much of their waking lives taking ‘selfies’ of themselves and posting them to ‘social media’, the mere possibility that someone might have captured their image, without them adopting a suitable pose, can make them quite irate. ...

... The attitude of Kylie and Tyson Public aside, add a knife (read “KNIFE!!!”) into the equation, and you could be courting disaster!

... Leeds Market - while it still exists - ... rancourous looks … over-abundance of flabby lobster-pink flesh on show... the grimacing idiots didn’t see Earl show them his backside! :D
…

Jack, I appreciate your trying to show EARL a good time, but I have to say your long and stressful day yesterday seems to have left you rather curmudgeonly and a bit pessimistic about the fate of modern society!!:D:eek: (Although perhaps my editing has modified the meaning of your message.)

...I adjourned for coffee and something to eat at a favourite Italian cafe, ordering the very un-Italian dish of beans on toast. Folk here tend to think of baked beans as being very American, but in fact Britain consumes more of them – much more of them – than anywhere else in the world. Heinz alone sell one and a half million cans every day in the UK! I don’t know who consumes all those beans, but for my part, I had about half a tin on some lightly toasted focaccia bread. Earl seemed to approve, I guess we’ve both got a little cowboy in us! ;) :D
...
I LOVE beans on toast (with peanut butter), especially cold beans on toast in the summer!!:thumbup: I had no idea one could actually order it in a cafe!

...I thought that he might be a bit homesick, and that he might enjoy seeing me drink an American IPA.
...
Well he didn't complain...;)
It's an amazing gift you have, Jack, to be able to read the mind of a pocket knife as though it were a book! :p:thumbup::p Although I'm sure I'm not in your league in that regard, I DO have a strong sense right now that EARL might enjoy hearing about me drinking an American porter, so I'd appreciate your informing him that I'll be doing that VERY soon! (Did you ever consider anagrams of EARL's name? For example, REAL ALER are a couple; coincidence?? I think not! :D:D)

Good one, Dave! :thumbup::thumbup::D

Great pictures so far Jack and again it's always great reading what you are up to.

Good luck with Earl my friend and I'm looking forward to seeing what you have with in store for Earl- OR what Earl has in store for you:(

Curmudgeonly? Me? No, I have always been like that GT! :D

It isn't on the menu of that particular cafe, but I sometimes ask for it anyway ;) I don't eat beans on toast too often, but I inevitably enjoy it :)

Thanks for the advice my friend, Earl's reputation has certainly preceded him, and forewarned is forearmed! ;)

An odd statement to my ears considering the origin of the term "IPA".

Yes indeed Frank, but American-brewed IPA's and American-style IPA's have been very popular here these past few years, you have taught us old dogs a fair few tricks

You were right Dave, I should have listened, Earl has gone all 'Colonial' on me! ;) :D

Have a great weekend everyone

Well done Jack.I wasn't aware that you knew the Publics-lovely couple Kyles n Tyse and little Epppoynneee-Rriiyye (pronounced Ebony Rae).
Poor EARL though.Born in the colonies, has visited wonderful places across the oceans ..and New Zealand. Now in the land of former colonial masters and oppressors.I have the image of a bored teenager being being dragged round museums , hillforts and castles.
A selfie stick is needed. (They had to ban them on rollercoasters....duuuh).An inventive person might fix EARL to the end of one and use it to slash through the crowd in the style of a Civil War pikeman. ...to the moors I say.
Give me liberty or give me freedom.:p

Just happened on this thread this afternoon. What fun idea and a great way to get a glimpse of forum members home turf. Really looking forward to more of the travels and visits.

Jack! Have safe travels with EARL. I'm sure he's fighting for space in your pocket with the Davison Lambsfoot! It would be a knock down, drag out fight I'm sure if you let them have at it!

Thanks Jake, I think I'm going to keep those two in separate pockets! :D

Happy 4th of July from me and Earl everyone

Earl helped me make Chilli this afternoon, and I introduced him to Sheffield's Finest! ;)

Now we're going to kick back for a bit :) Hope everyone is having a great weekend

It's nice to see that Earl isn't afraid of a little hard work considering how much he likes the ladies.
