Earl Sees the World!

I've never had beans on toast. Those are canned, baked beans? Tex-Mex version is refried beans and tortillas. We eat that all the time down here.

I've only eaten possum once, and it wasn't on purpose. Sampling at a chili cook-off. After a taste, I had to ask. "That wasn't beef, was it?"
"No," he proudly said, "Possum and armadillo".
Dang! Not a winner.

You boys have fun now. I look forward to more pictures of Earl out and about.

Yep, canned baked beans r8shell, heated up, maybe with a little Tabasco or Henderson's Relish (kind of hard to get hold of outside Sheffield) and black pepper, poured over toasted bread. Some like it with some grated cheese on top :)

Re-fried beans and tortillas are good, but I have never knowingly eaten possum :D

Hope you're having a great day

You, too. I'm about to go get breakfast, and for some reason I'm in the mood for some migas (eggs scrambled with tortilla chips & salsa) with beans and bacon. I had a bit of a late night. I went outside to scold some neighbors who were shooting fireworks in the street in front of my house, and ended up joining the party. :D Just to make sure they didn't set fire to my property, of course. ;):D

Earl seems to be a lucky guy to get around the world that much. Being now in the "old world" must be interessting for him ;)

Great looking meal, Jack. I like beans - but my wifey doesn´t like that I like them :p - the same with Sauerkraut.

That sounds good r8shell, me and Earl have just had a light breakfast, some devilled mushrooms and some nice Italian tomatoes I forgot to put in yesterday's chilli. I was sorely tempted to open a can of baked beans, but resisted! :D Me and Earl were woken by fireworks, not sure where the party was though :)

Thanks Andy :D

I am looking forward to being able to show Earl around properly, but it's probably going to be the end of next week before I get all my work done, and I'm cooped up on a warm day again :(

An odd statement to my ears considering the origin of the term "IPA".

According to legend. The British soldiers in India in ye olden days needed beer.:rolleyes:So back in dear ol blighty they created a brew that would travel well and be drinkable gaaaaacjh without refrigeration. So the pale ale came about.

Sunday is the only day when I listen to music on the radio, and Earl seems to have enjoyed himself :)

Oh yes, Jack! The good stuff. I love Aberlour! I sure Earl loves it too!

There was a time when I didn't spend all my money on knives! :D Earl certainly seemed to enjoy dipping his nose in the a'bunadh

Back to work today unfortunately :(

Glad to see Earl is typing away - helping you with all that work!

Thanks Eric, he's been a big help :) He also opened a fresh pack of coffee for me

I had to go to the post office just now, and sadly missed the opportunity to snap Earl with an urban fox which boldly trotted across the road about fifteen feet from us, this was around 12.30pm. I had my camera with me, but it was in a pouch in my pocket, and by the time I'd got it out, Reynard had gone.

Here's Earl on the rain-soaked Leeds cobbles.

Jack, we're beginning to see another side of Earl.
He appears to be a good companion and a great house guest. (who knew?)
Thanks for taking the time to show him around.:thumbup:

Hmm, I wonder if Earl really is working? He seems to be pressing the P, then the O is next, and the N is just below his butt. You better check his search history!

We'll see my friend, plenty of time for him to misbehave yet! :D

I haven't started yet, just sorry he's had to spend so much time indoors :)

Hey, you might be onto something there Eric, I'll have to keep a closer eye on him ;)

I had a couple of meetings to go to today, but at least it meant I could get out of the house, where (since I largely work from home), I have spent far too much time over the past few days. Earl and I travelled first of all to the North Yorkshire town of Harrogate (see for example: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...kshire-With-A-Knife-The-Wizard’s-Quest-Part-5), and then onto Knaresborough (see for example: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...kshire-With-A-Knife-The-Wizard’s-Quest-Part-7). I'll probably visit both places again with Earl, when I am free from work. Earl seemed to enjoy the journey over the attractive Harewood Estate, and I took him for a brief look at Knaresborough Castle, which was swarming with teenagers on a school trip. I managed to get a couple of photos before the heavens opened, and rain set in for the rest of the day.

The schoolkids had some work to do as part of their trip, and were busy going round questioning members of the public for a survey. I had to laugh as I overheard a group of them ask the gentleman below, "And what is the purpose of your visit to Knaresbough today?"
"Er, I'm the Town Crier!" :D
They don't teach 'em much at schools today, as my old dad used to say  ;)

It's still chucking it down outside, but me and Earl have a couple of bottles of Porter to warm our cockles ;)

Awesome Jack - fantastic photo's - neat to see the Town Crier still going! AND with Earl!!!!

Thanks Duncan, I don't know if you recall all the shennanigins with the Knaresborough Town Crier, but there are actually TWO now - and Town Crier Wars! You couldn't make it up could you?! :D
