Eating Apples with pocket knives?

Back in the day, before I was into pocket knives, when I spent a lot of time meditating etc.
This is the way we dealt with apples (the guy on the rock with the flute).
. . . but . . . you know . . .

Thanks guys for the pics and info on the knives I asked about.

It's the new #78 American Jack. Pick one up while you still can, cause this run is hot..
As The Big Bopper said : I got noooooooooo money honey.
Story of my life with GEC.
Love that single blade #78 !
Maybe one day.

i carry pliers in the boat- not when wading - maybe forceps

I slowly and carefully carve sections out of my apple and eat them with my pocket knife, usually a thin bladed one.

Did you ever see how alton brown slices his mango? I like that method better, and I get bigger chunks to cut with my knife (happy emoji)

I have not! This is the way my dad always ate mangos and how he taught me. I'll have to check out Alton's method :)

I did a couple of quick sketches to show how I slice an apple in seven cuts. I make the first six, then a seventh to cut the larger piece in half. This way I don't have to cut through the core. After I eat the seven pieces I nibble away at the remaining flesh on the core. :)

Holy cow that is too intricate, I'm just satisfied with cutting it into 4 pieces and having a square core to throw out. I might try this next time I go to slice up an apple

Nice. What DPS are you running that allows you to get this geometry on the apple? This is ground breaking stuff right here and I would like to get on board.

That's very similar to the way I cut my apples. And I also nibble on the remaining 'meat' left on the core.

I eat an apple the old fashion way, eating a whole apple with my choppers. ;) I do from time to time use my folder to open up packaged meat, cheese blocks etc.

The height of the blade from edge to spine is about 1/4”. This allows the blade to follow a tight curve when removing the core of the Money Crisp I mean Honey Crisp apple. These things are way over priced, but the growers are frantically planting more trees.

I use my Eye Brand, stag handled Sod Buster. Lost most of a top, center tooth in HS football, got a expensive crown instead. Lost that crown to an AN/PRC 6 radio in Ranger School, got a temporary crown at Ft Benning. Walked into a brand new dental clinic on Bien Hoa Air Base and was their first customer, got a nice crown which gave way years later. Try to take care of the crown I have now, so use a knife to cut up my Apples. John
