Ebay #190066504405 GDOT Barlow,Prices are rising!!

Codger,
The brass is #A2260, the copper is #A2311, both 1974 shielded.

Eric

Are the linings copper also? I find it doubly odd that the pins are copper. It seems that it might have been copper plated? Copper is generally too soft for pins. If the linings are copper, it might indicate that it was plated after assembly. Was this from the factory collection, or from the Tractenburg collection? As uncommon as these are in their production guise, this one is very unique indeed! I appreciate your showing it to us!

Well, someone is going to be surprised. That is a 152, not 125. Yes, it is a bonus clampack, but I can't see how it went that high unless it was a pizz fight. It was the winning bidder's first buy (unless he was a shill). He chased it all the way up from $30.00. Anyone wanna buy a cheap leftover bonus flashlight? I'll toss in a Sharpfinger to sweeten the deal.;)

Michael

I'll put my 152's up for 100.00 each. Name the color.
Somthing a little rotten there.

Will you combine shipping? Do they come with boxes and certificates? How many exactly do you have? Are they all mints, or are there other flavors? Any still in the rare and desirable clampacks? Maybe I should see pictures first. I did clean out Santa in a Texas hold 'em poker game. Sucka listened to his elve's advice!

There are still bargains out there! Listed under Folding Knives 'Other' I just got 4 Electricians knives for Total $22.50. Includes SCC USA 204.Ebay #300065444919. I reckon $5.50 each is a snap.!..Comments? Hoo Roo

Larry, I'm glad you won it, now you have to wait for it. I won one Mint in the original box in December and I am still waiting for it. These Schrades are not yours until their in your hot hands, congratulations on the Win Larry.

ea42, With regards to your Grand Dad'd Old Timer, I'd take a good look at the bolsters on that copper tone colored one and consider giving it a cleaning. I'd stake my reputation as a machinist that the copper looking one is Brass with some Oxidation. Brass oxidizes a red tinge depending on the materials it is stored around. I just won a Grand Dad'd Old Timer (1) like yours and it cleaned up like a shiny penny. Nice knives Eric.

Larry: The Barlow was a really nice buy. Unfortunate for me it wasn't one I saw from my tree stand. Congrats.

G'Day Thawk, I had to bid till I hit his reserve mate. Paid more than I wanted to but now I have the set. When they only sell in U.S. I email and set up dialogue with sellers after getting their approval to bid. I glean a lot of info behind the scenes from sellers this way and quite often find other knives they have, NOT that I would ever buy outside Ebay..wink wink say no more..... Thanks for your congrats we'll have to watch it we're starting to be mates!!! Hoo Roo

...Thawk...now I've answered a question you've edited out...the other blokes are going to think I'm a prize wacker mate....put it back in!! Hoo Roo

I'll take full responsibility for my edit. You're too quick on the keyboard!

I noticed you had 4 bids and did not pay for the lowest. I had a genuine Yankee DumbAss Attack, then deduced the item had a reserve.

I was the prize wacker (not the first time), not Larry.

frnorth doesn't mess around!

I think we might be in for another knife rack to look at soon!

The funny thing is that this knife came up for sale about six or eight weeks ago, I put in an early bid knowing it would sell for much more, then all of the sudden the auction ended about four days early, with no explanation. I let the seller know I was not happy and would not be bidding on anymore of their auctions. It is good to see it all worked out.

..congratulations Frnorth..I notice you made your bid really early this time ..11 seconds to go,I knew I would have an influence on you mate! For that price I want something that occupies a bit more space in my collection but I'm an uncouth Colonial Boy......tis a really beautiful knife and I followed the auction closely as well and laughed when she got email telling her the handling fee was outrageous! Hoo Roo

I had the same laugh when the knife was at about 150. When she explained the cost included insurance she covered herself very nicely

Thanks Larry, should be seven seconds though! I'll have to tune that up!
I set that bid up days ago, and have gotten an offer over and above and I don't even have the thing yet! I saw a very similar knife sell for $1500 at the Oregon Knife show last April, the only difference I can tell so far was the shield. I'll report back when it is in my hot little hands. Just to keep things in perspective, that knife represents 10-15 knives that I won't buy. As I get older, I go for nicer stuff, just less of it; but I enjoy it more!! Sorta like sex!! (Whoa, can I say that here?? watch for future edits!!:D )
