EDC One Knife Challenge SIGN UP

I usually enjoy and carry larger blades (I've been loving my 3.75" 0560BW since I got it).

I don't usually do serrations.

Never really cottoned on to finger choils.

I like flippers.

I don't usually do bright colors.

Never used a thumbhole, and never carried a spyderco.

Just ordered something new for this challenge.

Spyderco Dragonfly 2 Salt. I'm going to put a lanyard/fob on it, because I haven't really done that either.

Sign me up. Looking forward to this.

Wow! You are really going outside of your comfort zone aren't you? Lol!!

I usually carry traditionals, but a Kershaw Damascus Skyline popped up. I'm not in to flippers or liner locks, but I've always been intrigued by the brilliant simplicity of this knife and its rave reviews. So I will carry the Skyline for this challenge.

Sole cutting tool - does this mean even to replace kitchen knives, scissors, saws, grinders, etc?

I took it to mean the goto for most common pocket knife activities. Everything you currently do with your EDC.

Turmoil came in the other day, started carrying it already....so far LOVING IT! Too much fun to play with....wifey doesn't think its nearly as cool as I do:-)

Probably will be changing my entry. The Buck Quickfire still felt like a slightly bigger knife in hand, due to the bigger handle, so in order to truly get the feel of a smaller knife, i went ahead and purchased a Buck Lux Avid and a Böker+ Zero. Both sub 4" handles. I'll repost with the one I opt for before the deadline

So... My Buck Lux Avid arrived from bladeHQ, and I must say, handsome little simple knife, but I can definitely tell in hand, it is going to be a challenge only carrying such a small knife with less then 4" in the handle (when my hand has a 4" grip, and a 3" blade 4" handle is the smallest I typically carry). Feels awkward, like folding your hands, but interlocking your fingers opposite of what you're used to awkward.

The problem is however, the blade centering was so bad that the blade was rubbing the handle opposite the framelock, and could not be adjusted via the pivot screw, not even a little bit (tsk, tsk, tsk Buck)... So, tomorrow I'll be at the post office sending it into Buck to have the issue corrected, but that means it will be MIA and so the Lux will not be the knife I carry for this challenge.

My order from knifecenter on the other hand, which includes my Böker Zero, hasn't even shipped yet, so I'm not sure it will arrive in time for March 1st either.

I mentioned the Quickfire I purchased solely for this challenge didn't feel challenging enough due to it's larger handle giving it the same feel as a larger knife, and I wanted to challenge myself to a smaller knife, but I remembered a saving grace; I purchased a clam pack 2.5" Kilimanjaro Vertice for a $10 name exchange Christmas gift that we ultimately never attended, and since I already have a 3" in my work rotation I just left it wrapped up and put it away with the Christmas decorations for a potential gift for someone maybe next year, so worst case scenario, maybe I'll dig that out, unwrap it, and just carry that. Or maybe I'll go back to the karambit idea i originally threw out in the first thread... Still hoping my knifecenter order ships today or tomorrow though.

TBD

Well it's just arrived and as I indicated on my Feb. 5, post I am edc-ing a new knife, carrying something out of my comfort zone as I have not relied on a fixed blade for so long of a period exclusively.

I'm going to change blades, got a S110V Manix 2 on the way. The Skyline performed admirably during some pretty extreme use this weekend, but I had a disagreement with the 1095... I'll let you know when the Manix gets here, should be on Wednesday.

withdrawn. Won't be able to participate in March. I am looking forward to following along though, great idea!

Ok so I have decided on a hinderer xm 24. My normal edc would be a small insingo micarta sebenza. Quite a 180 for me.

I'm in with this bad boy. Tossik custom fixed blade:

I'm not usually one to carry a fixed blade every day of the week. I'll throw it on depending on what I'm wearing and what I'll be doing that day, so it'll be interesting to carry a fixie this size for a month. Gonna have to pick up a Tek Lok for it, though.
