But the one thing I'm worried about with hinderers is the flipping action. I hear the detents usually aren't too strong, so they tend to not flip super well. How does yours flip? Do you need some wrist to get it out?

I'm not sure when your knife was produced... But mine, being a skinner, is obviously a newer knife. Rick listened to the complaints about knives that flipped poorly, and tightened up the detent on his newer knives. As a result, mine flips great. I mean it is a Hinderer - it's not lightning fast. But that super fast opening you get with some knives really doesn't make a difference in performance. Just makes them fun to flip when you're sitting watching TV. Mine opens with enough speed to lock up safely every time.

...the only downside of the new detent is that the knife is impossible to open with the thumbstud. The detent is that strong!

That said, here's my carry today:

Today I am carrying my spyderco tenacious that I thought had been stolen. Turns out the guy gave the knife back to my wife who forgot she put it in the glove box so "no one would get hurt"....

Totally changed up my carry for today - no ZT at all!

Instead, something new and economical in from Japan

Bought a Boker Plus AK74 auto yesterday (stock photo) and decided to carry it around for the day. Not actually part of my EDC rotation, as I have no use for an auto in that role, and I'm sure it's a no-no according to both company policy and local law . . . but what fun is a new knife if you can't spend quality time with it?

Alright, here's hoping mine is like yours. It should be here in a couple days, so I guess we'll find out soon enough:)
