I don't believe this is true. The little papers in a CRK box recommend using a sharpmaker. I've never had a problem with sharpening my CRK's like a "V ground" edge.

I've dropped it a few times, but I can't find any dings on it. The wood holds up really well, and almost protects the liners from scratching.

I do have a small hairline scratch that runs down half of the blade. It's extremely hard to take a picture of because of the mirror polish, but I assure you it is much larger than it appears in the picture. I'm really surprised on how well this polished DLC coating has been holding up though! I've been using this knife almost exclusively for over a month, and it still looks great.

The sebenza does come a little convex, but you can usually still hit the apex on the Sharpmaker, so it's not usually an issue. Sometimes you will get one that isn't perfectly set for the final apex angle, so it can make it a little harder on the Sharpmaker. If you have too much trouble, you can always flip the case of the Sharpmaker over and there are slots where you can put 2 stones side-by-side with the flat portions up so they become a single bench stone and then sharpen that way ;)

Glad to see Rocky is still kicking some ass out there man!
I knew from the moment I saw you get that knife that you would absolutely love it! :D

I've got these with me today!

The Shirogorov 95CF might really be going on the chopping block right now. I'll decide this weekend, but I'm really out to get a Hoback A-15, since it's the only Grail knife I'm still missin right now.

Oh well, if you see this go up for sale on Modnay, don't be too surprised ;)

Thanks guys. I wanted to post this one of actual knives I'm carrying today but thought that one is gonna be less boring.

That is a good shot also, though I'll say that that Spyderco card thing is so silly and pointless which of course means, I want one and am going to have to grab one up. LOL I LOVE neat little knives like that.

It has almost no real life implementation. It was an impulse buy on Massdrop. It was Spyderco, it was CF so I've got it. I might put it on a chain for neck carry but I'm not much for jewelry. Now it's just reside on my tool chain.

Glad to see you still carry the Mcusta Forrest. That Terzuola is a bigger knife than I thought.

Absolutely. I actually have to be careful when I carry the Mcusta, because if I'm not paying attention, I will carry it for a couple of weeks in a row without thinking about it. It is a perfect knife to me, and one of my top four or five that won't ever be sold. I'll always appreciate you getting this into my hands, brother.

The Razel is fine, I like the looks of it a lot and honestly, I was using mine for the last few days a lot and found out that it could use better steel for every day work... I'm sure you're not surprised to hear it... :D
But the Buck is something else... I didn't cut nothing but paper with it, but I love everything about this knife, seriously... I'll be looking around for one, right now I'm on a hunt for a Starmate or Whaleshark but if I come across one of those Bucks I'll grab it immediately :D

You aren't wrong about the Razel steel. It does seem to dull fairly easily, but I tell ya, when it's sharp, it makes a hell of a caulk scraper!! I used it when redoing the grout and caulk on my tub. LOL

On topic, here's what I got with me today. SPEARPOINT FRIDAY, BABY!!

I think it's super-cool to see more and more folks carrying traditional knives here in the General Forum... good show, people!:cool:

I wasn't huge into them because of the carbon steels that are normally used, but once I got my hands on some nice collectible Case knives over my recent vacation, I found I really like them as a secondary carry, even maybe a little more than just my Vic Pioneer, which is saying quite a lot ;)

ALWAYS loved the feel and function of a good slip-joint though, especially if it has a half-stop in it. Absolutely perfect for me!

Now, I'm going to give the carbon steel a try and see what I think in practice. Who knows, I might end up selling off some of my modern folders to afford more of these great traditionals :D

If nothing else, they're a more economical form of the hobby, at least to some extent. There are much more modern folders that exceed $1000 than there are traditional knives, though they are still not entirely uncommon.

I have multiple small traditionals that I carry from time to time, and I enjoy them all. However, their size means they are only ever a secondary knife. I just don't prefer a slipjoint as my main cutting knife. That said, the artistry and craftsmanship of traditionals are generally beyond question, and they make a great office knife.
