I've been toting a spyderco Goddard model for over 2 years now, and love it. Best folding utility knife I've owned to date.

Other than that, I usually carry a victorinox... I use the blades so rarely, I decided to sharpen them up to a scapel-like edge. If I ever have to amputate my arm, at least I'll have a very sharp knife to do it with...

When at work, I keep my Gerber multi-pliers on my belt.

Carrying light today: Victorinox Pioneer in pocket and Victorinox Classic on keychain.

The season of long dark nights is here -
how many have considered carrying a pocket flashlight as an EDC?

More and more LED flashlights are now becoming available, even in places like Wally-World.

The Photons and Inova Microlights are probably the most useful - small and light enough to be virtually "not there" on a keyring or attached to one's knife. These both use coin/button sized batteries and are amazingly bright for their size.

Next are the single AAA or AA battery LED flashlights like the very popular ArcAAA and the CMG Ultra-G

More are just arriving on the market such as the CMG Sonic, ArcAA, Inova X-1

That Darrel Ralph Arclite is one handsome knife. I am a very big fan of that design. Someday.....

You bastard.

That thing is beautiful. I am a big fan of clean, simplistic gadgets and tools. Thats why I purchased an Apple iPod, Sebenza, and very clean Fossil watch. Definately going to save up to get one of those.

Nice EDC :D

now that the season of dark is upon us - I cast my eyes on the flashlights that can be carried in pocket.

One recent introduction is the Dorcy 1AAA - at only $5.94 from Wal-Mart - it is the subject of quite a lot of discussion at CandlePowerForums

l to r: ArcAAA, Dorcy 1AAA, CMG Ultra-G

I particularly liked the Dorcy 1AAA size and form factor - especially the push tail switch (for momentary ON).

Although the light beam may be a the luck of the draw - my sample of one was more than acceptable in both whiteness and even ness - and on its supplied battery seemed just noticably brighter than either the ArcAAA or Ultra-G - please take a look at this comparison for more details:

Dorcy 1AAA vs. ArcAAA vs. Ultra-G

So for now it's become my "on trial" EDC light replacing my favorite CMG Ultra-G.......
but only time will tell if it becomes my "official" EDC.
