@ torment

some months ago I saw this Nomos Tangente in the inflight shopping of the German Airline Lufthansa.
It was about 550 Euro .

WoW!
That Victorinox SAK is an early Economy SAK - "Waiter" model # 2.06.00

I have one of those -
it was my first real EDC carried for over 6 years, 1982-1988

The printed silver logo has worn off competely - there is only a vague impression of an outline of where it used to be.

It's in this Victorinox pamphlet that I got circa 1988/89 -

The Waiter is the third knife down on the left.....

Here's the detail (the lower knife #2.06.00)

bigbore.45,

Thanks for the pix -
You EDC all those knives, at the same time?

The fixed blade in the Kydex sheath looks interesting, what is it?
and would it be possible to show a pix of it unsheathed, please?

I believe it's a Timberline Mini-PitBull if I'm not mistaken.

I got one in a trade once. Very nice little knife. I only got rid of it because it was a combo-edge and I HATE combo edges. I meant to buy a plain edge version to replace it and I just never got around to it.

I have pretty big paws and that little knife was still very comfortable. That's rare.

Hi UnknownVT

yes, i carry all of this for about 2 weeks now.

No problem at all!

In the past i carried 2 to 3 knives ED,
but liked to ad a "use-it-abuse-it-no-matter-if-its-abused-knife",
so here comes the "Timberline-Mini-Pit-Bull".

BTW: this is only what i carry "AT ME!",
in my rucksack there is much more:
" Supertool, Streamlight Scorpion, ASP 26", small SAK, Cellphone, Money/CC, ........ some cord..... spare 123`s .....)

@ blastjv

You are RIGHT!

Just because the nice price i bought 2 (plain + halfserratet) of them,

like the plain much more, it`s my EDC,

the "halfserrated" i carry sometimes when i`m limitet (clothes, not law) to only "one large serious knife" as a second "user/abuser".

:D

I love my Scorpion, and have to carry extra 123's as well. It sure does like em'.

Yes, the Streamlight Scorpion is my favorite Xenon CR123 lithium powered flashlight - even over the brighter SureFire 9P - because of the Scorpion's better wide bright even coverage.

I really like its focussing head with orange peel reflector - mostly I adjust the light to give the largest central hot-spot without any central dark hole.

I recently measured the angle of coverage on a number of lights the Scorpion could cover with its circle of light/spill diameter at about 113deg - that's the equivalent to a 14mm extremeWide lens on a 35mm camera.... a lot of coverage

see this thread I posted at CandlePowerForums

However since Xenon lights do eat batteries - and most of the time it's just way too darned bright to do close practical things by - like reading a map in the car (holy moly - blinding!!!) - plus it's a bit too big to comfortably carry in pants pocket (unless one wanted to boast:D :p) - I don't EDC it - instead I used to carry the Ultra-G and now the Dorcy 1AAA LED lights:

l to r: ArcAAA, Dorcy 1AAA #2, Dorcy 1AAA #1, Ultra-G

Dorcy 1AAA vs. ArcAAA vs. Ultra-G

Dorcy 1AAA #2 (vs ArcAAA vs Ultra-G vs Dorcy #1)

If that is an Ultra G on the far right, then I want one. I'm just now getting into the light craze.

Current EDC:

Jacket: Roundtree & Yorke Outdoors jacket. Finally found MY jacket. YEY!

Watch: Luminox Navy Seal Watch. Yeah I know..it has the huge emblem on the band and "Navy Seal" on the face..but it's bright at night, and is tougher than my cheap Timex's

Black leather wallet

Knives:

College EDC: Spyderco Delica RF, with Leatherman SuperTool 200

Off-campus/home EDC: Spyderco Military RF, Delica LF, Leatherman SuperTool 200, Jone Bros. Rescue knife

Liable to change after the Christmas Season :D

As I mentioned in my original opening post to this very long thread :D - I have 3 different EDC combinations - for

(1) normal out of my house EDC
(2) at home
(3) air travel

(1) normal - out of my house -
EDC_out3_S.jpg

left to right
Victorinox Scientist model - with customized handles - carried in a SackUp (underneath the knife)
Dorcy LED 1AAA - single AAA cell white LED flashlght - this replaces the Ultra-G mainly because of the momentary push-ON tail-switch - but see these threads:
Dorcy 1AAA vs. ArcAAA vs. Ultra-G
Dorcy 1AAA #2 (vs ArcAAA vs Ultra-G vs Dorcy #1)
Canon PowerShot A70 - 3Mp digicam - yes, I do carry it everyday and everywhere on a neoprene belt pouch - I take a lot of photos (checkout the photos via the url in my sig - several of my photos are on band's web sites)
Photon 1 Yellow - LED light on my keyring - been there for over 6+ years and battery's still fine - at one time my only light, that's a belt clip for carrying the keys.

(2) at Home
Remember at home I would have pretty easy access to all my tools knives and lights - so I only carry on my person:
EDC_home3_S.jpg

left to right
Kershaw/Ken Onion LEEK - Speed-Safe assisted opening frame-lock - fast, easy access, sleek/slim and "right-sized" for me.
Another Dorcy LED 1AAA - replaces another Ultra-G.

(3) Air Travel -
with air travel security - my EDC is different for when I have to travel by Air, I try to minimize my carry -
EDC_air3_S.jpg

left to right
Victorinox Yeoman - as is, carried in a SackUp - placed in checked luggage for actual air travel, carried in pocket after arriving at destination - I do this because I do not want any possibility of losing my normal EDC customized SAK - also an unmodified SAK is easily recognizable and not usually regarded as a weapon.
Canon PowerShot A70 - 3Mp digicam - as above
Photon 1 Yellow - on keyring - as above - but when abroad I do not have to carry my keys, so I am light-less so to speak, and often am caught wishing I had my light on me - I may well remove the Photon 1 Yellow from the keyring to carry, or think about taking the Dorcy LED 1AAA.

Has your EDCs changed?

Or have you re-thought your EDCs?

Show us pics... please.

[edit 2/14/2004 - changed photo hosting site - since ImageStation.com seems reluctant to show hotlinked photos.]
