Nice! - is that the stag or jigged bone handle? Have you seen the Abalone handle?
but a spear-point blade - I always thought "Jack-Knives" were supposed to have clip-point blades?

Apparently there was an earlier Tony Bose/Case collaboration in a Trapper model:

Don't know about that. I use to have a Case Swell End Jack that was outfitted the same way as the Case/Bose. That little blade is a pure scapel! I've sharpened SEVERAL pencils for my students at school who for some reason think it is totally cool that i do that!! Go figure these kids...I can't, even after 20 years in the buisness! :D

Hi all
This is my first post here. This thread got my hooked on this board, so I thought it would be a good place for my first post.

Todays EDC (some things change depending on where I'm going and mood)

RF Gerber AR 3.00- a good little knife to use when you don't want people gasping at a BIG knife.
Kel-Tec P-32 in a Fist pocket holster(sometimes)
LF chap-stick
palm 130(if it's needed)
LR Fossil wallet with a removable ID holder for CCW
RR magnetic money clip with 1 dollar bills in it
R side waist band-The large Cold Steel Gunsite folder or Glock 27
R side belt- Gerber MultiLITE tool.
Shirt pocket
Cross pen or Itoya pen
Watch- Changes almost everyday- I'm a watch nut too!!!!

In the bag that goes most everywhere I go:
wind proof lighter- I don't smoke, but it's there if I should need it
Streamlight- keymate
Leatherman-micra
Leatherman- Juice CS4 w/ plastic belt holder
other stuff for "just in case...."
plus what ever I need for work/travel that day

If I'm fishing or hunting, it changes:
Drop the PDA, Cold Steel, Gerber knife and tool.
Add Gerber multiplier, Gerber Gator, Buck Nighthawk.

Anywoo, that's my list

Carrying light today! Yeah right!

Glock 30 .45 loaded with Black Talons
spare mag loaded with 230gr Golden Sabres
Emerson CQC7
Keys
Oh, and I forget it is there sometimes, but my Simonich Bitter Root hanging around my neck.

RattlerXX:

After testing Talons on hard targets at swat training we determined the jackets seperate from the core too easily [ though they were touted as not being able to do so ].

There are better loads, not a dis, just a heads up from our findings for you to consider.

BTW--Nice choice in glocks there. I also edc a g-30 in the winter months. Hell of a weapons platform throwing boulders at things.

Today:

RFP: Extrema Ratio Fulcrum11D; car/house keys

LFP: money, chapstick, SAK hiker

LaGriffe necker

Hey fruitbat........."Ain't nothing finer than to be in Carolina" What part you hail from? And btw, welcome aboard!!:D :)

brownie, I appreciate the info. Have you tested out the Golden Sabres, Hydra Shoks, and Gold Dots as well? If so, what is your input on these? I have these as well, and appreciate any info that you have tested.

RattlerXX :

I've worked with all three of those mentioned.

Any of them are better than the black talon, IMO.

In 45acp, I prefer the hydrashoks
In 38 or 357 I prefer Sabres
In 40s+w I prefer Gold dots.

Just a preference in different calibers. All of the ones above give good performance.

It's generally acceptd that in standard loads in each caliber, that the meium weight bullets perform better than lighter or heavier in the same caliber. That only a generalization, of course.

I'd dump the talons in every caliber and go with any of the abov and feel confident they'll perform at least as well as anything out there.

Hi artsig1
I'm in Hillsborough, about 10-15 min from Chapel Hill. And you are right, ain't noting finer!!! I see your a Heels fan. Good man!!! I'm not sure where Forrest City is. Abouts where is it?

Today I am starting to carry the EDI GenI folder until the blade play shows up again, that is in the right front pocket. It is razor sharp now to boot. I am taking the youngest to lunch shortly and I wil carry my CCO iwb in a DeSantis summer special. My left coat pocket a spare mag. Loaded with HydraShocks of the 230 gr. variety. The CCO is hands down the BEST and most reliable s/a I have ever carried and I have carried a few. It is also a low serial #in the LF series of pistols. Some people think they were the best Colt made. Don't know for sure but the thing has never once hiccuped at all. I rotate the CCO with my Rossi 975 s.s. .357 stoked with corbon 125's with extra speed loader. That is usually carried iwb in a Alessi Talon. Again it is a very nice wheel gun. I have put several hundred full power loads through it and no end shake or rattle or cutting of the forcing cone so it seems pretty well built. I have put lead pencil around the top strap and forcing cone though. Although not nearly as many rounds through it as the CCO. Keep'em sharp

Hi fruitbat......there ain't no other team in Carolina, but Carolina! Course Dexter E. would disagree with us! Forest City is located in the southern foothills of western N.C. about 60 miles west of Sin...uh Charlotte N.C.

Today's carry is a large curly maple inlaid Sebenza. Of course the Bose/Case jack is in my left pocket.
