Monkey's Fist

What do you have inside that monkey fist, if ya don't mind my asking? It
looks a little fat to just be the rope, so i was curious...cuz i've planned on making one for my own keychain at some point...

I have recently added to my EDC rotation. I now have a Spydie Lil Temperance TP that is in my pocket.

Leatherman Charge XTI clipped to right front pocket

Do you mind sharing how you clipped the XTI to the front pocket? Do you use a pouch? A pouchless clip would be very interesting.

change regularly because I like various object for the visual pleasure

1- SAK Victorinox
2-SAK Wenger , as good as Vic , some time better, less popular because not widely marketed, not much advertising
3-two watchs SEIKO and CASIO
4-my mod of flashlight, the smallest flashlight for the moment ( smaller than Photon )
5-wallet with money and coin
6-DIGITAL VOICE RECORDER OLYMPUS very useful and very tough
7-classic photo camera

I'll ad more later

Standard EDC, Delica and Endura, La Griffe, ASP key defender (handy place to put extra cash if ya take out the spray canister( and you have any extra cash(), photon freedom, bic lghter and gerber multilock

planning on switching knives to spyderco Psalt (serrated) and Ltwt Goddard (PE)

Not to get off topic too much, I'd like to disagree. I own both Wengers and Victorinoxes, and I'd have to say that the fit, finish, and durability of Victorinox surpasses that of its competitor.

Vincent (UnknownVT) provided the above analysis.

The consensus of most SAK collectors, including myself, is that Victorinox's designs, tool combinations, and quality are better, therefor Victorinox is more popular. That's just my experience. I don't mean to bash Wenger, they are good tools, and have served me well, but I prefer Victorinox in the end.

I saw that comment and thought about bringing it up for debate, but decided against it. But hell, since it's now brought up... :D

I agree whole-heartedly with NeedleRemorse. Victorinox has better quality, and tool combinations.

The one thing that Wenger lovers always say is that their tool design is better then V'nox and I'll disagree their as well. Wenger's scissors don't do a better job, just look better and it's impossible for the spring to break. The spring does get stuck alot on the Wengers unless you keep it oiled though... The canopener/phillips on V'nox knives is better then just a straight canopener like on Wenger. V'nox has the mini-screwdriver, the straightpin, and the ball-point pen. V'nox has a better tweezer toothpick design, as the nail pulls on my Wenger broke. V'nox has the combo-tool. V'nox has a sharpened awl that works great as a drill. V'noxs awl also has a sewing eye. The list goes on...

I usually carry my old & faihtful Leatherman ST (after several blade & other tools replacements along the years) in a Buck leather sheath. My blade of choice is now a Kershaw Avalanche (S60V) in a cordura sheath, but sometimes I change it for a Blur or even a light Leek. Attached to my key ring I have a Sog E-Clips (2 inch. fully serrated blade) & an Inova Microlight (white LED).
If I don't want to carry all this weight on my belt, I simply put on my back pocket another faithful friend, a one-hand-opening Trailmaster (SAK).
In the past, I used to take with me in my daily bicycle ride a Sog Mini Auto Clip, but after an incident with two teenagers (they had a pocket knife, but they didn't know how to use it) I take with me a telescopic baton (the smallest size).
Of course, to complete the whole package I can add My Seiko watch, my RayBan shades, my Siemens cellphone, my Sony MD... HAhaha ;)

Knife: CRKT M16-12Z

Other doodads: Treo 180 PalmOS/Phone gadget, and backup 8-round mag, together in a custom Dan Looper multi belt pouch (black), Kimber CDP Compact II, with thin-profile Smith & Alexander grips (black rosewood), with Corbon PowRBalls in a Milt Sparks Mirage (yaqui-style beltslide - black), keys with SwissTech micro-multitool and Streamlight KeyMate, Dan Looper custom bi-fold wallet (black), and Timex Ironman Triathlon watch, with compass. Often a KelTec P3AT as well, with plain ball ammo (Rem or S&B I think).

In left pocket I have my leatherman clipit. I usually dont go anywhere without it.
In my right pocket is a Spyde Native III
In my briefcase is the spyderco wrench, and Kershaw leek.
On my desk are 2 cheapies and a crkt small 6400 lockback. ( these are my letter openers and paper cutters, I dont own any sissors )
I change my right pocket carry depending on what I foresee for the needs of the day. Office work is one kind of knife, work outside is another.
And in my fannypack is a 357 snubbie
