it's alright.
i've broken it (the jaws) four times now. they just don't make the steel very tough.
to gerber's credit, every time i have broken it, i have sent it back and they have sent me a replacement free of charge, free of shipping/handling. so while i'm kinda bummed about the product itself, the service is high class.
the design itself is very cool. very fast to deploy the jaws, one handed action, generally useful tools.
also, i've had it and used it hard for almost 8 years now. if it breaks again, i've already bought another gerber "diesel" to replace it. i'd say i've gotten my money's worth for sure.
if i could give you a recommendation, i would definately NOT go for the gerber 400 (compact sport). that's the one you see pictured above. if you got a larger model, like the gerber 600 bluntnose, you likely wouldn't have the breakage issue i fell into.
