Colubrid: Hope you live for a long time and die a peacful, painless death. But if you're that concerned about personal safety, you might want to wear a crash helmet when you drive or ride in an automobile. I'm not kidding. You're a lot more likely to die in a car accident than in violent crime, and the #1 cause of death in automotive accidents is head injury. Of course, wearing a crash helmet while driving around town looks stupid, while carrying a concealed pistol seems cool. But in fact the handgun is a last-ditch measure for a set of situations that many fear but few ever encounter. You do wear a seat belt, exercise regularly, and don't smoke, right? ;-).
