Nice looking theme and photo you got there!
How do you like the knife?

Thanks! The Birk is my favourite "gentleman EDC". I have other similarly sized folders which the Birk has effectively kicked out of the pocket/edc rotation. I chose FFG blade over the other option (scandi grind) because of the light duties it has in my use - just opening cardboard boxes, occasional food prep and the like. Slices like FFG blade should.

Overall fit and finish is good. The handle is comfortable with it's minimalistic curves and it's size is just about right for my hands. The only thing I don't like is the pocket clip which is too bulky and ruins the otherwise good handle ergonomics. So I removed the clip and carry the knife stashed in the right front pocket of my trousers.

Cool, thanks! Looks like the knife could fit watch pocket just perfectly (would make it safer without clip).
I also like to carry without clip, hence favoring lockbacks or slipjoints.

I'm actually surprised that the USMC's sources such expensive knives. As far as I knew, they were still using Gerbers and KaBar/Beckers.

And here I thought only the army got the good stuff. Must have been a special unit to get these, maybe recon?

I'm out installing equipment today so I have my Leatherman Skeletool, Kershaw Skyline, and Victorinox Classic.

Sorry for not replying earlier. I find the Tenacious handle very comfortable. I am not using it for hours on end, but to me it feels the same as the Persistence, which I have used quite a bit. I guess it depends on whether the reviewer had some kind of death grip on the handle. I haven't had any problems with it. I'd recommend the knife.

How are you finding the comfort of the tenacious handle, I read so many good reports about it, however I saw one vid review where the guy was beasting it with hard work, and his hand was in agony most of the time and he had to stop the review short- what do you find?

I love the looks of that Para Military 2. I have been watching a ton of reviews on it and reading forum posts on it. Wife gave me the green light to get one next month. I am looking at the Para Military 2 with digi camo handle in plain edge S30V. I am pretty excited about it.

I love your pictures Kyrs. What kind of camera are you using? Your pictures are very creative.

Honestly, my iPhone 4 (sometimes with HDR, sometimes without). First thing I do when I get to work is take a pic of my blades, upload it to PhotoBucket and post here. For some fine detail, I use my Canon 500D (D500 for the North America Version). Amazing images came from that thing.

Thanks for the compliment by the way :D

You cannot go wrong. My first American Spyderco was the ParaMilitary 2 shown in the picture. It sliced like no other and I think my bias is going more and more toward Mr. Glesser. I personally believe that Spyderco shaped the S30V blade and hardened it perfectly - I have tried other S30Vs before, but I wasn't a fan until I got this knife.

I was leaning towards the Manix 2 in BD30 initially, but like 4 or 5 people recommend I get the Para2 in 20CP first (Sprint / Limited Edition Run). When I called my knife guy, he said that he sold all 20 units in like a day. Luckily, he keeps a few for himself and for good customers, and I've been very fortunately to pick one up. This thing still cuts like no other. By the way, he still has Manix2's in BD30 still in stock.

I personally didn't like the grip - it slipped a few times in my hand.

So, like my usual self, I modified it:

Definitely more grippy after this :D
