I think it was ChazzyP who posted his workhorse Tenacious yesterday and it inspired me to carry mine today. Mine was also put through a lot of abuse in one of my off seasons. I pulled a 5 month Winter gig at the John Deere factory until spring rolled around back in 2012. Supposedly I wasn't suppose to carry anything other then the issued retractable utility knives they supplied. I did use one for exactly one day then slipped the Tenacious into my pocket until my 5 month stint was up.
I love this knife, never considered it sub par in any way. Easy to resharpen, solid lock up and good ergo'scombine boredom and a dremel and you get the scales you see pictured
Today, my trusty Tenacious and Spartan sporting new scales

Yea seems like it’s still a little slow this morning but much better then last night. Back to your covers absolutely beautiful what a job well done. Desert Ironwood is one of my favorite wood covers they have so much character and really compliments your blade. It got a little weird while I was quoting your post as just three dots showed up for your message between the bracketed links in my text box. I went back up to your post and your text was still there, so I copied it and pasted it into mine. When I went back to your post it was gone and I was left scratching my head, though your original text still lives on in my quote. That likely all happened while you were trying to edit. Since Spark had that server trouble a few months back things seem to get hinky here at times when there's a lot of traffic which leads to all the double and triple posts you see in the Exchange lately as well as what happened with your edit.
Anyway, thanks again for the kind words. The scales are Desert Ironwood and were made for me by our estimable resident scalesmith @Keyman . I've always loved the 710. The -1401 has great steel and the contoured G10 scales had a nice, almost-soft feel to them, but I always found that blue/black BMK thing kinda meh. Key's work took an excellent knife and made it even better.
