Thanks! Look down in the archives section of the forum under K9 knives. These were a collaboration between Dan Koster and Tom Krein. I got in on this when I was a member here in the 2007/2008 time range. 3V steel with a Bos heat treat. Koster and Krein split up the finish work. Mine was finished by Krein. Koster numbered his on the spine.
Southern Grind Spider Monkey Copper Damascus. These pictures were in very bright sunlight - it isn't as pinky looking in person.
Patina just starting to develop. A quirky little knife - very heavy handle vs blade. Odd/light opening action - took some really fine tuning to make it open easily while maintaining blade centering. Feels great in the hand and very sharp.

Third time's the charm, this Case/Bose Lockback Whittler is just about perfect!

Trick, how so?WValtakis it sure looks cool and very sharp at the same time, but I’d be afraid to close it though with my bad hand and all. It’s not a trick picture is it?
Brass? I just want to make sure you know it is copper and damascus. I really like the look and feel of copper. It is quite heavy for this size knife - over 5 oz. The damascus pattern is subtle.I keep wrestling with this knife. I want to buy one but I'm not sure what model to get. I kind of want to wait for an M4 sprint run again because S35vn is kind of mediocre but the damascus looks really good too. Brass and damascus version you have really looks great but a cf version would be a great light weight edc. So many options haha, im sorry to hear about action, that was my other concern. Is it on pb washers?

The action is very good now - it was stiff when it first came and needed tiny tweaks to the pivot to get it moving smoothly (anything more and the blade centering suffered). It is on pb washers.
I like it, and will do so even more, as it gets beaten up with more patina developing (just using it today has added another layer already). It was wicked sharp on arrival (vacuum packed bag) and I haven't sharpened it yet so don't know how that will go with this type of steel. The only thing I don't like about it is the clip - it was way too stiff and I have been flexing and bending it to make it more user friendly.
Maybe it’s just my eyes today, but I could swear, even if I blow the picture up, that the top blade is a double edge (sharpened on both sides, not a false edge).Trick, how so?
