EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

Took my first good 9.6 mile hike this summer along the New Jersey and New York borders. It was the maiden voyage for my new to me Bark River Bushcrafter and I also brought along Native 5 Salt and Wave+. I got to see some great views, almost stepped on a 3 foot Timber Rattlesnake that blended in perfectly with the trail, and got a good workout. 20200820_122719.jpg

Thanks! Look down in the archives section of the forum under K9 knives. These were a collaboration between Dan Koster and Tom Krein. I got in on this when I was a member here in the 2007/2008 time range. 3V steel with a Bos heat treat. Koster and Krein split up the finish work. Mine was finished by Krein. Koster numbered his on the spine.

Well that sure explains why it looks so eye popping appealing to me. Thanks for the information/history on it, and for posting it too. Wishing you and your family a great weekend.

Southern Grind Spider Monkey Copper Damascus. These pictures were in very bright sunlight - it isn't as pinky looking in person.

Patina just starting to develop. A quirky little knife - very heavy handle vs blade. Odd/light opening action - took some really fine tuning to make it open easily while maintaining blade centering. Feels great in the hand and very sharp.

I keep wrestling with this knife. I want to buy one but I'm not sure what model to get. I kind of want to wait for an M4 sprint run again because S35vn is kind of mediocre but the damascus looks really good too. Brass and damascus version you have really looks great but a cf version would be a great light weight edc. So many options haha, im sorry to hear about action, that was my other concern. Is it on pb washers?

Everyone here is posting such awesome knives today, I’m in awe! Thank you.

A little "Why so serious?" carry today :D

And you two guys have me second guessing if the pharmacy gave me the correct medicine yesterday, lol.

@Knives&Lint awesome travel pictures and this graphic post got me until I read the other thread with the actual photo underneath it, great job.

WValtakis WValtakis it sure looks cool and very sharp at the same time, but I’d be afraid to close it though with my bad hand and all. It’s not a trick picture is it?

I’ll be carrying this today :D
From The Hinderer Ranch via DLT
Flamed Ti clip and filler tab and wow did DLT send me a nice one. Wanted some bright blue and purple flaming since I’ve received some that we’re more subdued. DLT hooked up with the best one yet !

Brass? I just want to make sure you know it is copper and damascus. I really like the look and feel of copper. It is quite heavy for this size knife - over 5 oz. The damascus pattern is subtle.

The action is very good now - it was stiff when it first came and needed tiny tweaks to the pivot to get it moving smoothly (anything more and the blade centering suffered). It is on pb washers.

I like it, and will do so even more, as it gets beaten up with more patina developing (just using it today has added another layer already). It was wicked sharp on arrival (vacuum packed bag) and I haven't sharpened it yet so don't know how that will go with this type of steel. The only thing I don't like about it is the clip - it was way too stiff and I have been flexing and bending it to make it more user friendly.

Sorry Copper not brass. I was shopping with my wife while writing that text and wasn't paying attention haha.
