I don’t mind the thumb and middle finger opening, but disengaging that lock bar deforms my thumb every time.

Im not sure if a spa day would help that.

I think that's just part of the "charm" on Medfords, Striders, and similar sharpened pry bars. That's why I'm more of a Shiro guy despite being totally in love with the aesthetics of Medford, Strider, and Direware
 
Still trying to break in the Slim Midi...

They are beautiful knives but mine had horrible lock stick so back to DLT it went and never seen it again. Tried a Medford slim praetorian much better but still not to my satisfaction. Went with a Strider AR .75 and now I’m a happy camper. The pry bar is still breaking in but so much better then the above :)
