EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

My best run was a 11.8 at Portland International raceway. With all just mostly Bolt ons like a under drive pulley a long with a ported and polished supercharger and Drag radials .It dynoed at Horsepower freaks 502rhw and 546rwt which wasn’t bad at the time.
If I could of got better 60 foots it probably could of got 11.6’s all day. It was a heavy car for it’s size and on the scale with me in it was about 3800 pounds. Also had a independent rear suspension so guys were snapping half shafts a lot. Almost went with a solid rear axle which is perfect for drag racing but bad for handling and a harsher ride. It was a daily driver so rather then do that I just tried to launch softer and make it up on the big end.
Those cars had a hand built motor from the factory and the guys who made that particular motor signed the valve cover. Had forged pistons and rods from the factory with a iron block . Rock solid motor no doubt and SVT stood for special factory team. The rest of the car was mass produced but those motors were a thing of beauty.
Loved that car !
My Honda CBR 1000rr I ran a 10.2 at about a 145mph trap speed. Should of been faster but it was hard to hold the front end down and almost looped it on a couple of occasions
That’s how I get my fix for speed now well that and the road course
Sweet! So much fun. My best run with the Trans Am was 12.012 at 114.09 mph. 1.879 60’. If that run would have been with my best 1.654 60’ I believe I could have run an 11.8. Car weighed 3688 and dyno’d 413 hp. Heads, cam, long tube headers, 3600 stall converter and few other small things done to it. Running at sea level helps.

Iron River’s sheath fits the Globetrotter just close.... IMHO will do.

Dub Dubs Wednesday with my Wilson Combat Wooden Extreme Lite Carry in cocobolo, a knife with great sentimental value, purchased at an old school cutlery in Barcelona while on vacation a few years back with our three grown sons.

As its name implies, this sweet mid-sized knife is a good choice for gym pants coming in at 3.8 oz. It also got me into typical knife knut trouble when I went to the Wilson website to look at specs and saw the titanium, frame lock version of this Fox-built beauty on clearance at 40% off. I've always admired that one and, well, you know how it goes. I figured I was close enough to year's end to be done buying knives for 2020, but now I've got another inbound. At least it won't show up 'til 2021.

This was waiting at the front door when we got home from dinner last night. I seem to be developing a fondness for these French pocket knives, and I gotta say I’m really diggin’ the spalted beechwood handle on this one.

Apologies for the crappy late-night pics; I’ll try to get some better ones this afternoon.

I bought a different version of the Wilson Combat ELC for my brothers and father. Cocobolo, titanium, black G10, multi-color G10. Great knives.
I hope you got the nice price on the Ti frame lock. Knowing the quality of Fox Knives specifically, Maniago-made knives generally, and given my attraction to Wilson's Starburst grips, I had almost pulled the trigger on that Ti knife several times previously as it seemed well worth the price at around two-fifty. At one-fifty it's an absolute steel steal. Sweet presents for your dad and bros. Who gets the Ti one?

I went back to the WC site again after seeing your post and before writing this response and ran into the Tashi Bharucha-designed EDC-X which I hadn't previously noticed. It's very appealing, seems a good value, and is more than a little tempting. (I don't need it, I don't need it, I don't need it....). If that ends up in my cart sometime it's all your fault.

Such clean lines, I love Vox knives but I hate the small blades. Same with giant mouse and fox. Yo each his own, beautiful knife sir!
I know where you're comin' from, ESD, but first let me say that our friend @thefrank has impeccable taste, takes great pics of his gear, and I always "like" and enjoy seeing his posts. But, yeah, I've got that size thing too with Vox, GM, Fox, and others that are well-designed, nicely made, but just kinda small. I've posted my WC ELC as today's carry, just bought the Ti frame lock version of the same knife, and do have a number of that size and of those brands in my accumulation that get carry time as appropriate, but can't help wishing that they were just a bit bigger. I take pains to call anything I own around 3.5" a mid-sized knife but can't help but think of them as small. My sweet spot just barely starts at 3.625" and I tend to think of those an eighth larger than that and up merely as full-sized.

Still, bigger isn't always better, and I'll probably continue trying and carrying some less unfriendly to light apparel.
