EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

Sanrenmu builds the Ruike p801 as well as tons of knives for other companies. They build all the Real Steel knives. There are knives in their line up that are clones, just like there are knives in Wayeah (WE knives parent company) that are clones. This isn’t probably the best place to discuss it.

Personally I don’t see a problem with non clone Sanrenmu knives. The Ruike p801 is a Sanrenmu product.
Thanks for the clarification. I was referring to Sanrenmu branded clones, not their original designs. I have a CRK clone from Sanrenmu that I was gifted and it is actually a very good knife for under $20. I leave it in a toolbox and wouldn’t have bought it myself. Wouldn’t post pics of it here or brag about how nice it is either.

SharpieB the thing is that if company sells even stealed design under its own brand name it does not count as clone, it is not my opinion , everyone i talked to says so.

Novaday if you wanna make practical knife that u can work with (not just for a wall) your knife will look like a copy of some other knife , because there is standart that is the best geometries and best handgrips ( human all have almsot the same hands)

Sorry, I completely disagree with this statement and your opinion.

“Everyone you talked to that says so” would include very few people here and even fewer knifemakers.

Any knife blogger i watched when said something about clones they said the same thing, that if copy is selling under own brand name then its not clone but a copy , and clone when product acts it's original. Maybe me and everyone who says it ,are wrong, just saying what i heard and read about it.

And btw how can that sanrenmu knife that i posted be a clone if there is Chinese dragon on it ? If it does not look identical as Original it is not even a copy , it is at least modified even if the main idea was stolen (and i doubt it is even stolen design).

So Chinese copies of a Rolex watch, Chanel purse, Apple iPhone and other black marketed products is perfectly acceptable by your logic?

We can agree to disagree. You stick to Sanrenmu and I will give my money to manufacturers that don’t copy designs.

Im not saying that copies are acceptable , im saying that those are copies but not clones if they are sold under its own name . Anyway that sanrenmu i posted, i do not think it is copy , i got Ruike P801 and they are different, i mean they share some parts of design but not everything in design is the same , size is also different.
