Merry Christmas to everyone here in the EDC thread. Thank you all for your friendships. I hope this season puts a smile on your faces! Happy holidays!
Well said, Coleman. Most of us will never meet and yet the friendships shared here are real and enjoyable. With all that's going on in this world we can all use a smile and a bit of Holiday Cheer.

It's funny that I carried and posted my Biryukov #9 today and the conversation morphed into my Tolk as they're both knives I'll keep, use, and enjoy despite their flaws. The Biryukov is, I think, one of Andrey's early forays into folding knives and has about the clumsiest attempt at a detent ramp imaginable. Instead of making for smooth disengagement it actually creates a double hitch when closing. It did drive me a bit nuts at first, but I close it in such a way now that it's not noticeable at all unless I go looking for it. There's a lot to like about the knife too and I've never seen another save for one obscure French out-of-stock listing, so I enjoy it for what it is.I sold my full size Tolk not long after I got it for that exact reason…bad stud positioning. Drove me nuts.![]()
I tried opening the Tolk with the thumb studs when I first got it, noticed they really didn't work, and just let it go as I particularly like the knife otherwise. I've got other flippers with thumb studs, hardly ever use them anyway, and some of those don't function all that well either.

I'm up too late again and Santa won't come down the chimney as long as I'm sitting here typing, so goodnight and Merry Christmas y'all.
