Rough day ahead?

I knew it was gonna be a CRAPTASTIC DAY..... Hunt's point in the Bronx!!! Even though its been cleaned up exponentially its still ranks as.one.armpit of the world, or NYC at a minimum.

Not seeking to start a political contretemps here. Just picked the book off the shelf at random. Have you any apolitical suggestions?

Indeed I do! Sanderson's Stormlight Archives are amazing and will keep you busy for a loooooong time (they are 1100-1300 pages apiece, and actually not boring. At least the first three aren't, but all of them have big payoffs at the end.) I didn't think of it until now, but they also have the added relevance of having "blades" be an important piece of the story, without being forced.

And to anyone claiming that a book plastered with the title "Commies" isn't a political dog whistle is unfortunately missing the mark in today's society. If it's a coincidence, then it's a coincidence, but I don't feel bad about trying to keep it out of here.

Also, I forgot to respond to Zerodin's snake post! Definitely the shovel is the correct tool!
