Whew yea I just looked it up and that place looks beautiful! I'm also exactly 1 hour away from the trailhead in Kent. I may have to go check that out one of these days soon, that looks awesome. I just got my enduro motorcycle back up and going and have been exploring the area (I've also only lived here a few years), I've mainly been exploring the area around Black Diamond. It's nice there too but the trails aren't as long as what it looks like you like to do.

Righton. My wife is a teacher in Renton so you and I aren't too far apart at all. We're actually living in West Seattle at the moment, which despite having Seattle in the name seems a million miles away from the main city across the Bay. More of a laid back beach town vibe really, which is somewhat reminiscent of my home town in Florida . I actually dig West Seattle quite a bit, great food and some really nice people, but at my heart I am a country boy and only really feel at home in the woods.

There are quite few great trails right there in that same general area, pretty much every exit on 90 between North Bend and Snoqualmie pass (multiple on each exit actually, on both sides of the highway). The thing is, that's just what's close by, only a fraction of what this state has to explore. We started out with alot of shorter trails too, but once we got the hang of it it's really just putting one foot in front of the the other a few more times ;). Another great spot nearby is the Denny Creek Trail, which is fairly easy and especially perfect for those hot summer days like we have coming up. Because of that it does tend to get crowded at the creek, but very few of those people go further on the trail. Just a short hike above is Keekwulee Falls (if you go there make sure to take the side trial right into the waterfall area), and if you get really adventurous there is an Alpine Lake (Melakwa) even further above.

A motorcycle sounds like a great way to explore the state. Have fun out there man, and stay safe. If you happen to see an extremely handsome feller with a foot long beard taking pictures of fruity colored knives don't hesitate to say whatsup 🤣

Been carrying an Artisan Cutlery Shark (G10/D2) pictured at the top for about a month and it was time for a change. Went thru about 1/2 of my collection and pulled out the following knives below it for consideration:

Real Steel Megalodon 2017 Titan (Ti/M390)
ZT 0400 Scavenger (Aluminum/S30V)
ZT 0562 (G10/Ti/S35VN)
Hinderer X18-3.5 Recurve Tri-way (G10/Ti/20CV)

And, the winner was the Megalodon:

I always return to the Megalodon because I think its shape/form is classic, it feels great in my hand and it's the cheapest of the bunch (less of a concern if lost or damaged) despite being made with a Ti handle & M390 steel.

The ZT0562 came in 2nd but just looks too plain and is just a little too bulky in the pocket in comparison w/the Megalodon. The ZT0400 came in 3rd because, while it looks really cool, its modified tanto blade shape is pretty impractical for anything other than stabbing.

And the Hinderer came in last simply because IMO it's too expensive & not worth the risk to carry but it was nice fondling it for a while again while making the choice. :)

Right on man, thanks for the reccomendations! Yea North Bend is an area that I really need to spend more time exploring. I might have to go up there this next weekend. I hear that there's some forest service roads that would make for some fun riding also. I'll check out the Denny Creek Trail, that looks awesome!

Yea man West Seattle is pretty sweet as far as Seattle goes, it does have that kind of Longbeach (WA) or some other small beach town vibe doesn't it. I'm also a country boy at heart, most of Seattle is just a little bit much for my tastes.

I'll definitely keep an eye out for yea on the trails! It's always good to have outdoorsy friends, especially if they're into knives as much as me. 🤙

Started work at 0400 this morning to get caught up from being on vacation last week. On the way to my second job of the day and the work truck died in the middle of an intersection. Was able to get it moved off to the side in to a neighborhood. My back up truck is down right now as well and the wife is using our family vehicle. Looks like it may be a short day out and about, then working from home. Oh well. My truck companions for this morning…
