EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

Took another Drive to the lake today and what a beautiful drive. Almost got her broke in and can let her rip once I hit 1200 miles and I think I’m at about 1170 when I pulled in the garage 😁
Any way had this wonderful Medford in my pocket to hold me down in the turns 😂
All kidding aside I love this knife and definitely my favorite and best Medford to date.

Huh. They make cars too? Who knew? 🤔

What model is that? It looks like serious fun. Or serious trouble 😇

Friends don't let friends use "alkaleaks" either. Definitely check out Eneloop Pro batteries for AA and AAA flashlights. They are NiMH technology. They can be recharged hundreds of times and you never have to worry about them leaking corrosive goo into your devices. (You can get even more cycles out of them if you use the slower BQ-CC17 charger.) They also tend to last longer per charge than alkaline batteries in a lot of devices.

Much like edge retention on the factory edge versus subsequent hand-sharpening, Eneloops can start lasting longer with a full charge after the first few uses. Note that in devices like clocks or remotes, the less expensive white Eneloops will give you even more cycles and possibly go longer than the stated 10 years. Also, the white ones are just a tad thinner and are better for devices with very tight battery compartments.
I think I used to use those type of batteries for my "mod" style vaporizers when I first quit smoking! I had been meaning to stick those in my flashlights, I think I still have a ton of good ones as well as chargers. I'd much prefer to use a rechargable battery that is not going to leak and I don't have to keep buying over and over again. That sounds great.

But, are you referring to the style of battery, (distinctive wrapped by a color, instead of the "normal battery" look?) or that specific brand Enteloop though?

I did get a 55 lumen LED upgrade though, looks pretty good, though I want a stronger, bigger one, now, too. I thought Maglites would be a bit more impressive, but hey, I love it, still.

The top one is the knife, and the bottom one is the car, right? 🤔
Ha, kidding aside, that thing is impressive, just... even from an XL Espada owner, that seems huge! How much does it weigh, if you know?

There are two types of Eneloop. The original Eneloop has a white wrapper. It has a lower storage capacity but is still a good alternative to alkaline. The benefit is that they can be recharged over a thousand times and are slightly more resilient in terms of being drained down to zero. They are perfect for lower-draw devices, devices that will actually drain a battery all the way down to nothing, or older devices with tighter battery compartments.

Eneloop Pro has a black wrapper. It has a higher storage capacity and is better in high-drain devices like high-lumen flashlights or electric toothbrushes. The trade-offs are that they are more sensitive to being drained to zero, are only rated for 500 total recharges, and are slightly wider than standard alkaline batteries. (I have only encountered two devices where the latter mattered, and I've used them in a whole lot of different devices now.)

Yep, got carried away with the pics today. In my own defense, I didn’t post yesterday so this is a consolidation of the past two days.

Suppose I could just roll with the “Six Pic Sunday” thing….but that feels like I’d be pushing the boundaries. Even I gotta draw the line somewhere.

Anyway, I’ve had the 3.25” SHF in my pocket all weekend, which for the most part was spend putzin around the gardens between intermittent thunderstorms.

Hit up a couple more peaks today, though I cheated a bit this time with the dirt bike. Still can't feel my legs from that ascent on Friday. Mineral Fork, Big Cottonwood Canyon, Utah. Hit up a couple of the headwall summits from an old abandoned mine up higher.

Damn mosquitos at 10,500 feet...

Scrambled the ridge to the summit on the left, 10,820 feet.

Thank you! I believe it’s only a little over 7 ounces .
This one is the Praetorian Genius and the one in the middle size wise . They make a smaller and bigger one. This one is the sweet spot for me no doubt .
